Default Rookie question for project car

I know it's a very controversial topic however my Friend and I are looking to buy a salvage 350z and build it up with a 2jzgte motor. I am personally not familiar with stand alone ecu so my questions is, when adding the stand alone ecu is it possible to keep the stock gauges inside like the speedo and tach? I'm sure this has been covered somewhere but any info would help as that is the only part I don't really know anything about and can't find anywhere. Thanks for any input

^Lmao!

There have been a couple of swaps like this (or ongoing) on the forum. PM those guys for Engine mgmt. I believe one guy is using a custom Haltech iirc.

Maybe give Zerolift in Cincy a call too, they might be able to help.

Thanks for all the replies. As for some, sarcasm isn't necessary. It's not going to be a daily drive its just gonna be a toy.... I asked for opinions and input... Not *******s however I guess they are one in the same?!?

you can make it all your stock gauges work, but its very expensive. If its just a toy, then why does it matter?

It's simple use the search button. This has been done before, it's not controversial at all as that is an idiotic statement.

It all depends on how deep your pockets are and what you want to accomplish. Most people get great results with a twin turbo or LS swap.

so what happens during this build when you need a part and the other guy don't have the money.

I don't see this doing anything but blowing up in your face and ending up in court with 2 friends relationship ruined.

OP hate to be blunt but youre never going to own a Z with a 2JZ swap.

Im surprised people waste time answering questions on threads like this.
