Default Your 2cents on my Z

Okay so I've had my 350z for about 6 months now and have done a few mods to the car (all aesthetics) so far... Did the window and tail light tint, rear '350z' emblem and windshield wiper delete and thats bout it up until this point.

Now that I've got the car looking the way I want it, Im wondering what mods to do next regarding the cars performance.. Exhaust?? CAI?? Plenum Spacer?? Ect..

Any suggestions would be helpful. Not looking to spend over $1k per mod, I've got about $1,800 to play with

Please include brand names as well!!!

Blacked out Tails Look Good....On My First Z one of the First Mods I made was to Change the Exhaust.. I went with a Borla Cat Back But there are many choices out there all for around a Grand.. I also went with a cool air intake, Some would have went with forced air but that wouldn't keep you under a Grand... Good luck...

Forced induction wouldn't even keep you under 5 grand if you skimped in every area lol.

Can't really give you many opinions from just a rear end shot either, but the rear end looks good, the tint is a little dark on the tail lights for my liking. I'd definitely get some rims with a good offset for a grand.

I'd say Motordyne Resonated Test Pipes, Intake/Intake Manifold, and tune.....or 3.9/4.08FD Swap. I think $1.8k will get you the swap.

the tailight tint is too dark for me, screaming pull me over or risk of getting rear ended. if you have 1800 to play with, i would get the Motordyne ART pipes, and the Invidia Gemini cat back. you can get both for around 1500-1600. i have this setup and i have no complaints at all on it. i like the Takeda intakes mainly because they have the dry filters, you dont have to clean and oil them. that is just my 2 cents, congrats on the car sir

3.9 gears arent optimal (in my opinion) for daily driving, he will be on the hwy and hitting 3500-4k rpm just cruising

I'm not a fan of blacked out look. Also a good set of wheels and tires will help with corners. It really depends on what you want out of the z.

Get rid of the tail light tint and silly license plate frame. Put that $1,800 towards a set of wheels and tires.

Look in the market place for a used TD catback exhaust, Then get some nice HFC to go along with it some good gains, take out the spare tire as well!

Totally agree with. Or put it towards Exhaust and Intakes if you want sound/performance over looks.

Get rid of the tail light tint, put the windshield wiper back on and remove the license plate holder.

The LOLz, with $1800, you have options but you cant have all of them.

Wheels and tires
Exhaust/plenum upgrades/test pipes
Suspension mods

choose one and save up another 1800 and repeat process till you have all.

not sure what year tails you have but the OEM look 06 tails would look better imo, maybe with the JDM reverse fog indicator below.
get yourself a nice Y-back exhaust.
I personally like the look of the HKS TD / ARK Grip v2 / whatever other replica with a rear bumper tuck.
that license plate frame is ghey unless putting out big hp but even then...still ghey.

I would go with an exhaust as many have already said.

Also remove the frame.

One more thing. Does your rear bumper match the rest of your car? From the pic it looks like a different shade. Could just be the angle of the shot.

Nothing wrong with the rear wiper delete. That thing is an eyesore. The hatch looks way cleaner without it.

Quick Update: Bought a Takeda Short Ram Intake (polished w/ exposed filter) from proimporttuners.com for about $200 plus shipping, so I roughly got $1.6K left in the piggy bank.

Still looking for suggestions on further future mods to my Z.
I'm not sure I want to change the exhaust bc I don't want to draw too much noise attention (better my chances of getting pulled over and having to remove all my tint)

Thanks Captain350Z! FYI, I painted the tails then got them tinted after for that oem glass shinny look.. (6 Coats of VHT Nite-Shades, 8 Clear Coats of Dupli-Color Perfect Match) www.MikesTintShop.com in Orange, CA did the window tint and gave me a $50 deal for the tail lights so.. I said what the heck! I'll keep it on until I get pulled over lol. (It's been 2months, fingers crossed)

See attached pics for better reference (first pic is before I did my taillights) Apologize for not putting better pics, I was on my iPhone last night Also rims are pure asthetics (my opinion) and right now I want performance upgrades. Although I will be looking for tires in about 6-8K miles but not looking for new rims..

This is a daily driver for me so thats a "no go" on the 3.9 gear swap

Quick story on the license plate. About a week after I got the car my parents came over to check it out and my mom braught the "Catch Me.. If You Can" plate holder over as a new car present.

I thought it was okayishh :/ but didn't want to dissapoint her by not putting it on.. It's been half a yr though, I'll take the frame off this morning and keep my plate naked from now on. (LMAO didn't think it was that bad)
