Well that is a big salary increase wish I had that lol.

A z would be fun with what you want. Just go into it knowing it can be a lot more then what you think. There can be hiccups along the way. But good luck!

I'm not going for a track monster to win races. More like go on the track and legally go really fast around corners and actually have fun with the car without endangering anyone but myself. I don't plan on taking the car to the track with just TT and Nos. Track would be later on, after it's 'finished'.

Moneywise, I'm going from 20k a year now to 130k a year starting December so I could probably afford to move out and pay for the car.
Congratulations on the huge promotion or new job. Personally I think you may be counting your chickens before they hatch here... If you are to be moving out and starting a new life with a new job I would highly recommend waiting a year before buying a new car. I have many friends who bought new cars when starting their first well-paying jobs, and it comes back to bite them in the ***. If you have you're 2010 honda working well and treating you well just continue to do research on here, and save cash for a big build after you've gotten adjusted to your new lifestyle.

Also I will agree with others that you shouldn't put a GTR anything on a 350z. It's frustrating just like when Mercedes owners slap AMG tags on a 300c

I think if you have the income to build up a sizeable savings, and have the chance to do a test drive of modded 350z and GTR, you will be convinced it is better to finance a stock brand new GTR than it is to get a used 350z. Not knocking on modding 350z of course (that is what I am doing), but it can be more than just a fun project you pay someone to do perfectly... Sure it is fun, but it can eat you alive if you don't start at it slowly with an effective plan.

as others mentioned a GTR is designed to handle 600 horse. Just power tuning a 350z to give 600 horse is a bad idea, you'll need a major overhaul of all handling, breaking, cooling, and other subsystems.

My 2 cents. The 350z is designed to be a 350z, it doesnt lend itself as well to other applications as say, a Supra might. Generally when you want a 500+ whp car you buy something thats much closer to your goal power and requires much less modifications. I wont go as far down the road of pessimism as the others, but I will say there are a variety of other model cars that can and would be less expensive and less extreme to modify in the end to reach your goals. Like a GTR. However if the 350z is the only style that floats your boat then you should pursue your dream. Even if you fail and waste $100,000 you well have attempted something that you set out to attempt, and that is what life is about.

You'll be making 130k a year and you wanna buy a used 350z? Lol seriously? Pretty sure you can more than afford a GTR at 130k a year.

I think we all know that this is never going to happen. It's just a pipe dream, including the pay rise. I for sure would not be looking at 350Z's if I was on $130,000 p.a. I would be looking at something a little more upmarket, that's not to denigrate the Z but if you were earning that amount of cash I sorta don't think that McDonalds would be your restaurant of choice. OP hasn't had a wash for a while and there's a distinct smell of BS.
