Default Z vs yukon?

Ok guys i know this i a dumb/noob question but i have to ask it. Ive owned my Z for 2 years now and the handling and comfortability on the freeway is nice, but last week i rented a GMC yukon, and i was going 80-90 miles an hour on the freeway and it didnt feel like it, it felt like i was only going 60 but when im doing that with my Z i feel like i am going that fast. Are Zs like this? Or is there anyway i can upgrade my suspension to make it more comfortable like the yukon? Any advice and let the flaming begin

Being up off the ground makes it seem "slower".

You DO realize the Z is a sports car right? Softer suspension will destroy the Zs handling.....

Len, you need to go harder on this guy!

Make your Z feel like a yukon.....hmmmm.......lift kit, 65 series sidewall tires and transplant a Lay Z Boy into the driver seat.

You're wondering how to make a sports car more like an SUV and I'M failing at being funny? You're right. Good luck with your imaginary luxury sports car fantasy.

Maybe take a look at a nice RSX? I hear the Type S is REALLY comfy.....and FAST!

It's the forum. Not sure why, but it has always attracted a subset of a$$hats.

OP... You don't want a Z to handle like a SUV. If you really did, you don't really want a sports car (you want an SUV). Certain aftermarket suspensions can help, but ultimately, you have to get further off the ground with more rubber between the road and axle to get there.

Dude, you realize the 350Z is a sport car right? The reason you felt it drives fast as it is at 90 mph because of the good feedback of a true sport car. The GMC Yukon is not a sport car, it is just hunk of metal, gas guzzler that drives fast, but feel slow and waiting for an accident to happen. I don't think you are going to find your answer on here, because most of the Z owners on this forum like to upgrade their 350Z to go fast, not slow, and we are careless about comfort. Period.

Alignment could be off a bit on your Z , at 80 to 90 your Z should feel locked on rails.

Possibly the biggest difference is in the tires. Zs come equipped with Ultra-High Performance, low profile, Y rated (in excess of 186 mph) tires. In one word, this class of tire is noisy, and at 75 mph they howl. Switch to (simply high performance) W rated tires (168 mph) of the same size and road noise and harshness will be reduced, also the ride becomes more compliant. For most people this is a no-go because you lose the razor edge handling of a true sports car. However, this is still more than enough tire for some spirited driving and as a bonus the tires will last much longer.

What tires are on your Z? The standard Bridgestone RE040 / 050 get very harsh and noisy as the tread wears down. Is the tread approaching the wear bars on your tires?

Where I live we have cool rainy winters and ultra high performance tires become frozen bricks, losing all hope of traction as the temp approaches freezing. I switch to Bridgestone RE960 all-season tires for the winter. After a few winters I found I liked them well enough and just left them on for the summer too.

If you wanted comfort and lazy handling you bought the wrong car junior. Nothing you buy is going to make your Z feel like a SUV. Get a Murano, basically it's the obese sister of the 350Z. Even though the Z itself is quiet big boned but it's all muscle.
