Total bummer man. If I were you I'd be hoping it was totaled and just start fresh if I could. Just try to remember that your life is more important than a vehicle and it could have ended worse for YOU. Good luck!

IIWU I would DEMAND the car be totaled!!!! As a matter of fact I would inform them that under NO circumstances will I take possession of the car. Force the issue!!!!

Once had a problem with the paint on the roof of a new Oldsmobile, when they kept giving me **** I informed them I would be driving the car thru their front door....and they knew I was serious. Got the car painted & returned in four business days!!!!

I can try and demand all I want dude, but if they don't deem it as totaled, can I argue against it? I'm sure itewill. Most of the impact went to my trunck area, I wonder how much would it affect my car if it were to be repaired

Not to defend her, but insurance rule #1; you never accept blame or apologize after an accident.

Hope everything works out for you. I'd be gutted if my brand new car got thrashed by some idiot not paying attention.

I guarantee the car that hit you was looking at their damn phone/texting instead of the road. Sorry to hear man.

I yell and flip off people who I see on their phone while driving. They get pissed like they're not doing anything wrong. Self absorbed *******s cause accidents like this.

I swear if somebody hit me because they were on their phone/texting I think I might smash their face with said phone.

most of the time you can get 3 opinions if it is totaled usually your insurance ,theirs, third party inspection. tbh though it looks like a total exhaust prbly bent up towards the headers drive line prbly bent slightly and axles. cross your fingers!

Yep I hope its totaled too. I can't risk keepin a car that will possibly give me issues. Also may have transmission issues as well. I'll start lookin out for another G soon as I get that confirmation

Sadly I have to report my sister rear ended someone when she was inputting a address on her phones GPS... ( she rear ended a nissan quest) last week.
I basically unleashed all the fury I have for people that text and drive on her.

OP, I would contact a lawyer and find out how you can push her insurance to total the car...., no matter what the shop does, that car will ALWAYS have issues! not to mention when you try to sell it in the future.

There's a grey area where if the repair costs are 80%-100%+ of the cars worth that allows an insurance company to total a vehicle. Have an estimate done for total OEM repair by multiple parties if needed to get it in this range. The car will never be the same even with OEM parts if it is repaired. If it's in the 80-100% range and not over, demand that they total it since the resale value of a vehicle repaired to this extent will not be the same amount you JUST paid when you just drove it away from the dealership. This is no "it'll buff right out" accident.

Not sure why everyone is so hell-bent on totalling this G. Cars can be repaired properly and the OP should have no other problems with it other than normal wear on the vehicle.

Thanks I definitely am goin to push for this. And no its not a buff it out wreck. My complete back end of the car is ruined. The trunk floor pan is crushed, both rear quater panels are ruined. And I'm more than positive the exuast is ruined. To sum it up this car would have to have a different end welded onto it.

I don't think so. This car will never b the same. I also more than sure my transmission is probably effed up as well. I mean seriously man, if u jus bought a car 3 hours ago and it get this type of damage, would you want it? Hell nah... now if I got it for half the price well yea I possibly would.

Glad you unleashed the flame thrower on her.

Usually the worst offenders of texting and driving are women.
Men know it can wait...unless their a gay, in which case they are basically women.

Don't some states have laws against texting and driving?

This thread. I mean um sorry for your loss I guess but if you have full coverage and gap you should come out ahead. You're not hurt so wh6s it matter if you got rear ended. I stumped my toe today on a mf lift at work. Wasnt really a need to create a thread with a violin playing in the background. I just cussed laughed and moved on....
