He asked for advice, and he got it. We aren't preventing him from doing anything?

I wouldn't consider a properly built and tuned boosted Z a "ticking time bomb." Of course, nothing is 100% certain as with all engines.
This issue isn't with the condition of the Z but the position of the buyer. If you we're older and at a different point in life, I'd say go for it, sounds like a good deal. If you had loads of money to blow on a toy. But, because of your age, I say put it behind you, focus on school and advancing your career. The cars will come in time if you do that, and more so this Z is just a Z. It's depreciation is retarded.

and to the thread, if you want driving quality and fun, go for a stock 350z, decent miles, should be able to get one for less than 15 . if u like comfort and convenience stick with the g and u can even mod that. or get a manual g. for same price, either way its a nice car at the end of the day!

Yea I get what you mean man, also the g35 is payed off completely so I thought hey won't be too bad lol. If a financial advisor tells me its not a good investment then I am all ears. I am not some stupid kid that posts on here talking about how "sick" my new 670whp z is gonna be. Facts were given and at the end of the day the cons outweigh the pros. I am sure there are more z's like it anyway and after college I may get myself a fun little graduation present ..... 1.5 years left!!

Oh and the only reason I was asking was because I see z's on here with more miles and less mods asking for more so I thought it was a "good deal" ya know?

Good choice on not buying it. Buying a built car can save you time and money, if you buy it from the right person. A lot of times though, you're just picking up someone's headache.

Im almost positive its built right talking to the guy and all the work he has payed for to get the car to where it is now. I just keep thinking about it.... sorta like the girl that got away lol. I do have a backup vehicle too, so its not like this would be my main car..... idk the thought just keeps poppin up.... stupid 20 year old guy DNA

The jump from g35 to 600whp 350z is a big one. If you're mature enough to handle it, and you are willing to accept the responsibility of driving a boosted car (maintenance prices, knowledge to fix the car/what to watch out for, willing to learn how to drive correctly, willing to learn SLOWLY) you should be fine. Your pre-frontal cortex should have started to develop now, so you can probably for see how these things get expensive when they break.
What I've learned building my car and building my friend's cars with them is you need a few things to be a successful built car owner (lol):
Patience (Lots of this)
Money (More of this)
Daily (One of these)
Experience (Never can have enough)
