DavesZ#3, mine didn't come with the emblem, they were the stock factory authorized set only, you can pay more here in Atlanta for the emblem. I've had them a year and they still look good...best money I've spent on the Z. We know how chicks love a little luxury.
Just because you buy the leather from the dealer does not mean that it is the "Nissian Approved" lether. The "Nissian Approved" lether has the emblem on the back and it IS perforated.
The "Nissian Approved" leather is only available in the touring model factory colors (at lease that the way it was in 03).

Actually ... the only Nissan Approved leather is NOT perforrated only. Look above and you will see the "Official" ad put out by Nissan.
Nissan approves only the leather product, color makes no difference.
It says "Available options:" and they are Single tone and two-tone. Please show me a FACTORY 2 tone 350Z. You will not find it.
BOTTOM LINE: Only 1 manufacturer carries leather warrantied by Nissan, and that is CST. If you, for yourself, want to read the info, let me know and I will take a better picture so you all can read it.
Again: Nissan approves the leather and its quality, NOT the color.

350trakz,
Thanks for the information. I am not trying to argue.
I don't need to see your Nissan ads. I take your word for what it says. After I pruchased my car, Nissan sent me a publication that had two-toned leather in the picture as well. But, when I was purchasing the car, I could not buy it.
Several things may have happened. The leather option may have evolved over time. However, 1 yr ago when I purchased my car, the local CST dealer would not sell me "Nissan Approved" leather. They said it was dealer only. 5 Nissan dealers told me the same thing. And, those 5 dealers said the leather was only available in the Touring factory leather colors. Maybe the CST dealer (who I have done business with in the past) and the 5 Nissan dealers where all wrong. I don't know for sure.
My leather has the "Nissan Approved" stamped (by this I mean the leather around the letters is compressed so that the "Nissan Approved" is in raised letters) into the leather on the back of the seats. Have the CST leather seats you have seen had this as well, or is the "Nissan Approved" printed onto the leather like in the swatches in your pics?
Thanks for the information.....

"Nissan Approved" is stamped/impressed/ etc on the back of the seat ... not stenciled on. I talked with my neighbor and the 350Z kits are relativley new (about 6 months)
See pic below for "stamping" of the leather.

The non-Nissan approved leather seats, also from Classis Soft Trim are identical except they have CST stamped on the back of the seats. Unless you want the "official" color choices, then you can save a couple hundred dollars and get a custom CST install.
Got mine Friday and they look and feel great. They look like they truly belong in the car. Went with dark charcoal/grey two tone. The dark charcoal matches the seat base, doors and console exactly.
I'll post some pics when I get a hold of a digital camera, hopefully this week. A word of advice, when picking colors make sure you look at them in sunlight.

Is that 700 installed? If not, how much are dealers quoting for installation?

YES, you CAN buy the Nissan Approved leather from CST distributors. you do NOT have to buy it from the dealer.

Done arguing ... my neighbor and friend OWNS a leather shop that sells CST. Why in the world would he have the info, leather samples that say "Nissan Approved" and recieve kits marked Nissan Approved ? Guess he is coloring boxes to confuse me.
My kit is sitting in his shop waiting for install. And it says "Nissan Approved" ... guess he is haveing CST make false kits for him.
I am done !!!

You've pretty much explained it yourself. He's your neighbor and friend. Sure he's willing to make an exception for you. For the rest of us who call CST or walk into an installer's shop, they're not going to be willing to violate their franchise agreement with CST for just anybody off the street.
BTW, the shop I went to had the same samples, kits, etc. The day I brought mine in he was installing an official one on a new Z. It was on it's way back to the dealer's lot.
I don't mean to be argumentative with you. But I believe you are describing a situation that is not the norm and is not available to the general public. You make it sound like anybody can get the approved package. All you and they have to do is call CST and I'm pretty sure you're going to hear the same thing I did -- it's only available for purchase thru a dealer.

I just got an enthusiast roadster and have been looking around on my350z for leather seats. I decided on Katzkin, called them and was referred to a retailer here in southern cali called Airstream.
Anyways, went down today to pick my colors and was convinced to go with Classic Soft Trim instead. Ordered it today, will go back in 1-2 days for install. Price is pretty ok too $725 installed for 2 tone, perforated center.

Does anyone know if Nissan or anyone else for that matter sells the Burnt orange leather seats with the black that are in the Roadster? These seats are ventilated.I have a Track and would love that combo for my car.

Check it out at:

BTW, CST is the official aftermarket leather supplier for Nissan. That's why they match colors...
