Default 350z vs super cars

So on our way home today we stopped off at the local Ferrari Lambo delership and it got me thinking although these machines are oretty much designed to be pure breed track machines. Do you think a tracked out lightened 350z could out perform one or many of these machines on a track. To give an example- set a faster lap time on the top gear track.

Im not reffering to a gt spec 350z
But a shop or home built tracked out, roll caged tt or sc
With full suspenion, brakes ect making roughly the equivalent in power.

I need to find the vid of me playing with an F430 at Autoclub speedway. I have about 1/2 the power , was on a HP track and it took me a bit to get by him.

you could shop/home-build any car to outperform some of the higher end cars, including ferrari's and lambo's.

take a look at some of those 92-95 civic hatchbacks home-built and blowing past different performance/sports cars.

it all depends on what you do with it (weight-power ratio).

Nobody wants a FWD econobox though (except to go to the store or don't care much about what they drive). It can have 80 million horsepower, it's still a FWD econobox that got popular after fast and furious 2001. I would take the Mazda Miata which is a true sports car over any lambo eating civic any day.

to each their own. call it an econobox. call it a piece of sh*t. but your "super car" just got taken by a 4-cyl econobox. i was just merely answering a question posted by the OP

honestly, for me, i didnt buy my Z to have a pissing contest. if your car can beat mine, great. i bought my Z bc i love it and have respect for cars in general. look at some of those 240s....most of them, if not all, are ***-ugly, esp. with the front bumper missing/big intercooler setup, yet people don't dodge on them.

what's wrong with FWD? and btw, civic/crx hatchbacks became popular before fast and furious.

define "true sports car" and how a mazda miata would be considered one.

Miata is the definition of "Sportscar" and the earlier ones are more pure with their minimalistic design.

QFT

A miata is as pure as a sports car gets.

Sports cars are usually two doors, front engine but some are mid and rear, rear wheel drive but there are exceptions like the lamboghni's and audi R8's in the world but even they too send a huge majority of the power to the rear wheels. Sports cars usually have nice sleek lines, huge power is not a requirement but it does add a fun factor and sports cars usually have really good handling compared to econo cars, luxury cars or suvs. Keeping mind this doesn't stop people from making things like suvs behave like sports cars, BMW X5m and the dodge srt 8 suv examples of this. But they still aren't sports cars. Plus FWD isn't any fun and once you start making near 300 hp your going to have to do serious modifications to put everything to the ground. Plus understeer sucks, have you ever had one of those front pedal tricycles as a kid? They're rubbish. One set of wheels doing all the work instead of one driving and the other doing the turning isn't cool.
