Finally Paid Off!

Finally Paid Off!
I have to say no car payment feels good. I really hate loans and it's crazy how much they make off of a loan. I saved about $600 by paying it off early.
But after winter (when it's out of storage) I'll have to fork over $200 for a new driver window motor.
It currently doesn't go up but will go down.
Would trying to reset it work or even cleaning it?

Sigh these window motors suck! Nissan should have done a recall. My z has only 50k and it went at about 40k.
No plans for mods but I want 370z rays wheels, they are hard to find for under $1,000

I had drivers door window motor problems a while ago. Sometimes it would work other times it wouldn't move at all. I tried cleaning out the motor and got it to work again but a couple of weeks later it failed again and so my only option was to replace the motor. You could try the reset but I think this is more for the amount the window drops and then raises again when you close the door. Luckily I was able to replace the motor via my warranty and it has been fine ever since. I feel that this unfortunately is your only option.

I feel you're right and I will get an OEM one because then I think there will be no issues. It just sucks to spend that much money because my beater car never had window issues and it's 14 years old
And my heated seat work intermittently. Sometimes it works great and warms up fast and other times it feels like it's never even on.

I'm sort of disappointed by the quality control of Nissan as I had 2 S14DET's and one had just over 130k on the clock and I had no problems with window motors or any other electrics yet I've heard people encountering window motor problems with just 40 to 50k on the clock. I've not encountered problems with my heated seats though. Have you checked the plugs under the seat to make sure they are seated properly?

I have tried and everything seemed to be tight. And it works just not all the time or right away. Not that I use them much mainly from October-November.

If you have a great Nissan Tech @ your local dealership like us Houston guys do. they'll work with you on what problems you're having, good techs generally keep spare parts around. Our Local tech replaced half of a window motor for a member & it's still working a couple years later. didn't cost him much @ all.
You've got to build up that relationship with them though. If you just take your car in & start ringing out your hands waiting for the bill, you're going to have a bad time.

Loans are the devil. I'd rather deal drugs or pimp women on the side to get the money than ever take out a bloody loan. I don't care how desperate I get. I've heard cleaning the motor might work but some people said it didn't do anything. I would try it anyways.

I agree jahm I only borrowed $7,000 and having no credit I had a high interest rate. If I just made minimum payments they would have made $1,500 off me.
It feels good to not have a car payment and physically own my z. I don't know how people afford new cars even at 2-4% apr.
I'll try to clean it and reset the motor before I shell out $200 for the motor. Then I'll enjoy my z

Now I plan to pay off my student loans. I agree it's insane how the cost of everything goes up but the income and earning potential doesn't. Don't get me started on healthcare lol.
I really think banks are like loan sharks and hope people default on their loans so the rate goes up. At my work they cut the budget, and got rid of some good people.
Feels good to now actually own my vehicle. It's almost 10 years old but after every winter it feels like a new car to me.
