The brakes will lock up and rust if you store outside. Happened to my beater before

Being in Wisconsin, I'd choose to storage and cheaper cover option.

Since SmoothZ already linked to the winter storage thread, I will continue the off topic-ness.

I love this. I've never seen anything like it! Would be a great option if I had a spot in the garage to park it.

I'm usually a fan of winter, but I'm beginning to hate it. That is the reason why. I have my Z out today..there's a dusting of snow on the grass but the roads are clear. I don't mind driving it until they dump salt and gravel on the roads, then the Z does not move! . Beater season is right around the corner

Same thing is happening here. And the salt is what ruins the car. I've seen so many Hondas and Subarus rusted on the body because of it.

I miss SoCal. But living paycheck to paycheck without the military was inevitable if I stayed. I don't WANT it to snow, but if it does, I'm looking forward to some handbrake turns in my Hatchie.

Btw, is "doge" a new meme? I feel like this fread started that? AmIwrong?

^^^ Understandable, man. The COL out here is a little ridiculous in most areas.

Doge has been a solid meme for a couple months I believe.

Hipster Doge:

I figure for the amount of money I will pay for the storage unit for the winter I can buy a quality cover and I'll be able to use that year around. I know the unit is obviously the better option but is it worth the money? I mean, I cherish my car, but it's not like I have some exotic car haha.

You can rent a storage unit for $50? Can't touch one for under a $100 in my area, and I'm not talking about a heated one either.

One around me without taxes and fees is at least $120 a month. Nothing special either

I was just at the dealer yesterday checking out a 370Z Nismo and something occurred to me. Why does everyone make a big deal of leaving (sports) cars outside for winter, especially if you don't have a cover etc.?

I was thinking..that Nismo is most likely going to be sitting on the lot up until the spring. Many new, or close to new, cars sit outside for months, including the winter, so why is people freak out about leaving cars stored outside? I'm sure most 350zs and 370zs are kept outside even when they are brand new, mine being an exception because it was in the showroom
