350z vs Civic SI
theres nothing wrong with the 2006 model, some consume some don't, put oil in it…drive it issue solved, i have a 06 with no oil consumption issue, as far as si's go…lets just say there not fast i mean how can a 2.0L 4 banger be that quick……get a 350z man and don't look back
OP, good choice on sticking with an SI. Hondas are reliable and great cars, and if you have to drive a Civic it may as well be an SI. Hopefully this forum didn't scare you off from owning a Z in the future as they really are great cars, just not in the winter or if you need space.
Oh it didn't scare me from owning one. All the thread was for was to know which of the two was a better daily driver. Not to argue that a civic is better than a 350z.
How is a thread about the practicality of a car stupid and not worth a serious response? Answer me that. You did not discourage me from getting one. And if I got one it's not a cheap one any teenager can afford, with a salvage title. I'll agree with you most of the people in the older style Hondas are ignorant and immature. Another reason I moved up to 8thgen Hondas. Most are owned by adults. Which eliminates most of the bull ****.

As far as daily driving comfort is concerned between the two, I think it will really come down to the wheel/tire set-up.
Civic SI looks to have 17" wheels with 215/45 tires. This taller profile and narrower tread will make it less noisy and more compliant for daily driving than the Z.
If you buy a Z there are all kinds of wheel combos it could come with. This is a good guide: http://www.**********.com/wiki/index...Specifications
Also the tire brand will make a big difference. On my G35 I had the skinny stock potenzas on 19's...man it was like driving on marbles. Switching to michelin was completely different. If you went with a michelin touring tire on 17's at the stock fat sidewall specs you'd probably be more comfortable than the civic.
Now if I had to choose a honda, I'd get a used RSX because it looks nicer and is just as slow as the civic SI. But really I'd get a 350Z and try to get the wheel/tire combo that suits me best.

If the Z will be as "comfortable" (for lack of better term) as the civic with a tire upgrade then I'm all for a 350z. I lie cars that are fun to drive and are still half way quiet from road noise. (I don't care abut engine noise. I like that.)
OP, your young, just stick with the Honda, overall better MPG, cheaper maintenance, idk how you would look on insurance but i remember our civic and it was pretty cheap, but wait to buy a sports car when you can afford it, i mean really afford it, if you dont live on your own, you shouldnt be buying this car.
"Afford it" my ***. The newer SI costs the around same as a 350z.
I got my 04 touring leather seats/nav w 20k miles for about $18.5k last year (23rd bday present to myself)
Only diff is you'll be paying more money in gas, insurance, oil changes, ect.
My best friend used to drive a 350z before I got mine and now he drives a 2014 Si. He said the thing he misses most is not being able to step on the pedal and cut in front on the fwy, but he needed more trunk space since he's a dj now. He went from a mustang gt to a 350z to an Si, so wierd.
