fairlady Z?
It's okay, unlike some guys, I won't make fun of you. We all need to start somewhere.
The Fairlady Z is the name used in Japan for the 350Z. And I guess in other countries as well. The badge is pretty much the same as the one on the US 350Z except it says Fairlady Z instead of 350z.

Can you imagine:
"Wow, nice car, man! What is it?"
"It's a Nissan Fair-Lady."
How many would they sell in the U.S.? Maybe 14.5% as many as if it were simply called 350Z (assuming 90% male demographic and allowing for 5% of those males being gay.)

Also, what idiot would ask what car is that if the name of the car is pretty much always on the back? Either the person is a dumbass or...a dumbass...

Hmmm, I bet his reply would actually be "It's a Nissan Z".
As for the Fairlady Z- that she is, and I would be just as happy if that's what they called her here.
It's the specs and looks that count, not the name.

Ok guys I'll give you the short easy story of how the Z got the name FairladyZ.
Basically before the Z was around. The Datsun Roadster that was around in the 60's. The president of Nissan Japan attended the New York broadway show MY FAIRLADY. He loved it so much he named the Roadster that and the Z as well.
The other part is correct about Mr. K not liking the name and thought it was too girly. Personally I like the name, hey don't we name our car girl names anyways?!

Wow, tough crowd, tough crowd (doing best Rodney Dangerfield impersonation, pulling at necktie). Guess I didn't use the smiley-face device
, to my peril. Lighten up, guys, I was trying to be a bit funny about the fact that the U.S. market wouldn't like the name, is all. No neeed to get snippy! Look, I used to drive a Scirocco, which doesn't exactly sound manly either. I was just trying to make a little joke and I supposed I failed miserably. (Guess I shouldn't quit my day job to become a comedy writer.)

Is it possible to import the 'Fairlady' badge from Japan and then just switch the badges? If so, I'd love to do it.

If you guys are seriously interested I was going to bring a few fairladyZ emblems back from Japan. I'm pretty sure they are just double sided tape and stuck on. You can probably remove your 350Z emblem very cleaning with some dental floss
I hope you guys all use dental floss
but if your serious please e-mail me at Service@StrictlyZ.com
