Ouch, you guys are brutal. I wouldn't be scared to buy a Z, cause if it does have any problems, Nissan will fix them. You might consider an 04' model if you can afford it, they seem to have ironed out some of the wrinkles the 03's had. Other than the tire feathering, I have had no problems with my Z, and I wouldn't hesitate for a second to buy another one. Nearly all new model cars have problems the first year they are released, so it's a chance you take to be an early adopter. At least there haven't been any recalls on the Z, if that makes you feel any better.

Sorry I couldn't help 2nding that too
very well put right there -- both parts at that
I think it'd be better if you try and find out how many people actually having problems vs how many are NOT, especially before you come on a Z forum like this saying something like
"350Z is a damn beautiful car but the problems are rampant"
Do you realize rampant means out of control, or an inordinate amount of something happeneing? I, like many other owners, have had my Z for XXX amount of miles with ZERO problems. Remember, this model hasn't exactly been around for 10-15 years...
oh well
almost 7 months of owning the Z, 11,540 miles, zero problems as of 1-31-04
PEACE

I've had my '03 Z for 6 m'onths w/ 5800 miles and have yet to have any of Ithe problems listed for the '03 models.
Sometimes you must take the risk. Like you've been told before, no car out there has been made w/o problems. Before I purchased my Z, I searched thru the forums & outweighed the Pro's & Cons. Most problems were minor, & up to now, I don't regret buying the car.

I must agree with most of the other posters, if you're worried about getting a Z, then don't. It's no skin off my nose. I can tellyou I've had my 03 for over a year now with 10K+ miles and I haven't had one problem. I take that back, I have a problem keeping the speed down.

Bottom line is whether or not your love of the car outweighs some of the problems that come with owning the car.

There is no car forum I have every been on that is not fully of little bitches crying about little pissy problems that happen to 1 in 10000 cars. Spend some time on an other car forum, only the compaliners voice up. The other 99% that have good cars and love them don't waste their time on such crap.

yeah if you stay on any car forum long enough it'll start to seem like the car has horrible reliability. any car forum. somebody's always complaining about some problem and blowing it way out of proportion. like the manufacturer owes us a product that is perfect in every way and immune to all forces of nature and time. take rx8forum for example, if you spend enough time there you will begin to believe the gas mileage is a defect. if you stay here long enough you might start to believe that the thin paint is a defect or that all 350Zs suffer from tire feathering.
of course it's still the best source of info you've got.

I read in another thread that the Y will be getting the new KIA motor, how reliable do you think it will be? Should I just get a used Z or wait for the Y.

Just hope Nissan is monitoring these posts, better yet does someone know how to forward these posts to nissan. If you have tires wearing out under 10,000 miles you would be looking for an answer too. Nissan gave me new tires would you consider that acknowledgement of an issue, all we are looking for is a resolution except for this issue the car and nissan has always been a solid brand. This is my third Z and fifth nissan overall, so god bless your faultless Z but forget trying to convince me I am a whiner and I will stop thinking that you are a mindless cheerleader!
