Yeah I'm sitting on parts to be installed and enjoyed but this winter has had other plans/delays,,,I just wanna be able to shift again , going from a 350z 6 speed to a 09 civic auto is well...boring as f***.
Winter sucks
Gee, and here I am in CA. We are getting ready for a March 1st Big Sur run. Was in the 70's till about a week ago, been raining now for a week, but that's because I live near Pebble Beach and every year they have the Golf Tournament it rains, and this year is no different. Badly needed as to being in a draught for almost a year though. I feel for you guys though, I came here from TN in '97. Was at my brother's house (worst snow storm in 10 years), 5 days later in CA and in the 70's. But on the other side, it's expensive as all get out to live here anyway. But keep your cars safe and ready for Spring. "Long live the Z"
I wish I had a bunch of parts to install. All I've done this winter is wrap my interior door handles. I have paid off a BOATLOAD of debt though.
to prepare myself for the winter I take some random videos of my Z in the summer and watch them in the winter to satisfy my craving to drive it..... but we got 1 more month or so of crap weather here!!!

I wouldn't spin the tires in the snowy driveway excessively. There two things, first, when a spinning tire suddenly caught traction, i.e. a dry patch, the impact loading would destroy the weakest link in the driveline. It could be in the form of ripped teeth in the rear diff.
Secondly, while spinning tires on ice or snow, the rear end very rarely follows a straight path. Inexperienced driver would smack one side into the retaining wall or put the car in a difficult position to save.
I'll say, speand $20 and buy a snow shovel or if ice already settled in, an ice scrapper; better yet, buy one each. That big of a driveway will take less than 30 minutes to clear. Driving in and out would be a whole lot easier and there is much less chance of people slipping and injuring themselves or damaging the car parked in the driveway.
Even better yet, do all those and put a dedicated set of winter tires on your Z, they are cheap insurance.

Also the Z with my snow tires are pretty good too. I try not to drive it in the snow not because of the snow, but because of the salt.
