Default Converting to 6 SPD.....

Im new to the boards and my parents got a 350Z Touring Auto. They hardly ever drive it so the car will be mine. I was just curious to see if anybody knows if the auto to manul conversion is possible and how difficult it would be. Thanks guys.

Why bother. Trade it in for a 6MT.

Well I didnt purchase the vehicle personally. On top of that, the car is paid for in full, I dont want to trade it in and have another car payment and I cant really complain cause I got a free 350Z. Can anyone provide me with the info I need? Thanks.

Not worth the trouble. Parts are not widely available enough to make it even close to cost effecient.

Cost more to trade-in than to install... plus, install could be very quirky in terms of reliability.

edit: read the above and appears to be misstated... meaning to say that the cost of install would be WAY more than the loss incurred via trade-in.

Well Ive noticed on Ebay from time to time they're 6SPD transmissions available, on top of that I work at a body shop so I have endless resources to be able to get the tranny. I am attending UTi this May and after Im done with school I should be able to do the work myself, only cost that will go into it is the parts. Im just curious to see if the swap is even possible. Someone told me that it should bolt right up, Im just trying to get some other insights. Thanks guys.

since your car is paid in full you'll get a nice chuck of cash.
enough to have a very small monthly payment.

or trade it for a used 6MT.

Dont waste your time to convert an Automatic car to Manuel.

Doesnt make any sense at all.

If you really want to do the conversion, go for it, but its gonna be a lot of work. You could consider having SGP Racing rebuld your transmission for around 3 grand.

seems like you have your heart set on it. if you want to do it, do it. for any other sane, logical man, it's just not worth it. everyone else has pretty much told you why it's not feasible, so no need for me to repeat them.
