Default Deer hit me, 2004 350z roadster

So I was driving to work and all of a sudden a deer Rams into my car, both the driver fender and the driver door are damaged and need to be replaced. Rather than paying a body shop, how hard would it be to do fix my self? Like if I bought a new door and fender, how hard would it be to switch them

How much experience do you have with body work?

If you don't have much, you'll end up paying more trying it yourself then taking it to a body shop.

No experience at all with body work, but I'm a pretty good handy man and if it's only like screws and positioning then I'm good at that.

Have it fixed by a professional. You have insurance for a reason.

Looks like the deer body-slammed you with his side. I can almost make out antler gouges.
+3 Body shop, and get those little fender whistlers from Pep Boys. Btw, you can legally eat things you kill with your car in NC.

Yup same in wisconsin, deer would have been supper after doing that to the z. And with our conceal carry laws it wouldn't have gone to far without me getting some pay backs on his hide. Looks like it was a decent size deer from the damage. Def. A body shop job. Do it right.

I'm gonna go against the grain here and say if you can research/find/buy things off the internet and can remove/reinstall car parts than you 'could' do this...

I say 'could' bc there will be some work involved here - you will need to source a fender and a door, although it seems like silver is a rather common color. It's not rocket science - both are bolt off / bolt on.

Don't expect to save any money...if you are looking to save money, than send it to the body shop. Don't expect it to be less of a pain in the A...if you want one & done, go to a body shop...if you want a project and want the sense of accomplishment than do it yourself.

To replace the door is a 2 person job. It's difficult to line it up perfectly. Other than that, if you're comfortable taking the bumper. headlight, sideskirt, door panel, window motor, fender and the door itself off; give it a shot. I have to replace mine here soon.

Car shows multiple impact zones with no scratches in paint proving that he hit something soft. I can't think of anything else he could have hit that would have done this

i have had the same thing happen to also, big buck in rut chasing does. slammed on brakes as 2 does crossed highway in front of me, go to pull away and bang, wtf? pull over and heres a nice 8 point laying on the side of the highway not dead just dazed and confused(lol). since it was not dead you can not legally go and kill it so my old man and i sat there called the cops to file the proper paerwork for insurance. cop shows up deer still coming too walks past deer and off to the races it goes. thought he was going to go john wayne on it and start shooting, was f ing hilarious. bet he made a zebra stripe in his shorts. similiar looking damage also as what the z had nice indent from head/horns and a huge dent were he must of turned or slipped on concrete and slammed his body into the rr quarter of the truck. over 3k in damage per the body shop bill. bucks in heat= dumb *** drunk love

I came into this thread fully prepared to see the OP had hit a deer and then correct him on the misleading title. Definitely did not expect to see a deer actually did hit him and not the other way around.
