Default Auto Shift **** Button Messed up

Recently my automatic shift **** broke on my 2004 Roadster, so I ordered a new one. The part number was 34910 and $200 and a week later, I got it today. I was excited to put it on and finally get it fixed, but the engage button doesn't click, so I no longer have to click the button to go from park to drive. Some may like this, but I don't feel like doing a half-assed job. I was wondering if anyone else has came across this problem and if so what's a solution? Thanks!

There's probably a procedure in the shop manual for adjusting the linkage on the button.

I think there are some instructions on how to adjust the linkage on page 228.
