jran76,

If you color in the buttons with a Sharpie, let me know how it looks. that should work as long as the color matches. I've found it impossible to get out Sharpie marker from my clothes, so it certainly should be permanent enough!

My thoughts exactly, the sharpie should be close but there will be a difference in color and texture.

I work in a cleanroom all day and 90% for the time when I press the buttons I am leaving for work in the morning after showering, or returning home from the cleanroom, in which case my hands are cleaner than 99.99% of others....

Bonz-- I use two buttons daily, my garage and gate to my apt. complex. So, they are used often. I would say I use the garage one 3-4 times a day and gate 1-2, except when I am on the road like now in Germany. Car has 16,000 miles.
Now that brings up an interesting point...

Any chance in this "clean" facility you are picking up some form of a chemical residue on you which might cause a reaction with the rubber of these buttons??????

Just for laughs I checked two other Zs here in the club, which I know they too use their buttons daily... same thing... perfect.

Nope, I am a robotics/automation engineer, so no chemicals for me....

I will say this, the gate is a piece of *&%^ and I press that button about 10 times sometimes out of frustration.
