Default car stalls sometimes.

hello everybody am a newbie here so looking for any advice on the following issue. I bought a 2004 350z roadster with 74,000km last year. I stored the car in October of last year and brought it out last weekend.I was able to start the car no problem and drove it on the highway for an hour, it ran perfect. here is the issue I am having. when I come to a stop the car still runs fine but as soon as I shut it off and restart, it stalls. the car will run after it cools down abit. Also when I come out in the morning the car starts perfect, it almost seems like after I run if for a while am having this issue. Now am not getting any engine trouble light showing, am just wondering would it be just the old gas I had in the car from last year sitting. By the way I filled the car with premium before I stored the car and ..Any help out there.please.

Could be gas, could also be a vacuum leak.

Does it sometimes catch itself just before it stalls and rev a couple times before settling down?

yes, its weird, someone said might be a sensor but I don't have any codes coming up, the car runs perfect but only after I run it for a while then when I shut it off it stalls, I usually rev a few times then it is o.k. That's why Im guessing it could be the gas from sitting so long.

Go ahead and run through that tank and if it keeps it up check for a vacuum leak. The vent hose that goes from the back of the valve cover to the bottom of the intake tube was split on my car causing my engine to stall on startup.

I had a problem similar to this when I took my car out of storage last year and this year. If you took the battery out that might also be the problem because mine kept shutting off when I fully stopped when it was warmed up and I failed emissions because the OBD sensor couldn't get picked up on the computer at the emissions place. After about 100 miles of driving that all stopped. What I did during the time period before it stopped is when I turned it on when it was warm I revved it up slightly to keep it from shutting off. Drive for about 100 miles (whatever that translates to in Kilometers) and it should stop. I'm pretty sure the battery being disconnected is the root of the problem since I went through the same thing every time I took mine out of storage.

How does your car idle in neutral once it is warmed up? Is it steady or does it fluctuate?

If it's like mines, it will start right up then the rpms will drop and it will stall again. It will literally keep doing it until you rev it a little to keep it from stalling.

Could it be your MAF sensor?

Battery disconnected for prolonged period, car needs to relearn AFRs and idle. Drive it a while, kill off the old gas, it should resolve itself. If not, check for vacuum leak.

True. A lot of people don't realize that gas goes bad.

Add some Sta-Bil to your gas to get rid of the water and to clean out the varnish. I use that stuff in the gasoline storage tank in my garage and it works like a charm. Just follow the directions on the bottle.

Isn't kind of late to add stabil? I thought you were suppose to add it before you store the car up for more than 3 months.

This just happened to me today after an oil change. After making a quick stop at the post office my car would start but not fully turnover. Happened twice today, so I took it back to the dealer and they said it was a faulty crank sensor.

Nissan is apparently aware of this issue but won't do anything to address it. Some go out around 80k, they told me I was lucky I made it to 97k before it happened to me.

Fuel injection/manifold probably need cleaning. I had this issue a few years back when the car would stall after prolonged use. Dealership service fixed it right up.
