Clutch, transmission, differentials??

Clutch, transmission, differentials??
When my car is idle or in gear just cruising I can hear a winding noise, sometimes its there and sometimes it's not, but when I engage the clutch the noise goes away?? I'm thinking its either the clutch, transmission, or differentials?

Differential, there is only one. Not plural.
