Default Testing your powers of Z-Related observation.

Ordered this set of "almost new" 370Z wheel LOCKS from my favorite vendor, Ebayus, and they arrived on my doorstep couple days ago.

What's wrong with this picture?

Mic

Nice. Someone is driving around with some locks that you have the key for.

Gotta ask Jimmy. Lugs don't have matching key cap heads.

Funny because thats how most people keep their wheel locks in the glove box with the 4 oem lugs and when I have to change their tires I usually put the spare on without the lock and people get all bent out of shape about it... And I am always like if your worried about someone stealing your donut, you need to move into a better community.

Locking keys dont like impact torque, nobody's for time for that.

while carefully reviewing the picture of your recent purchase, I've concluded
that your sense of security has remained unchanged. now you have 4 spare oem lugs and a key that is very generic. ( i have one of those ) dboyzalter is right about them not liking impact wrenches.

Hahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaa.... eloquent way of putting that.

Yeah, I hate wheel locks but figured that after one of our members suffered a wheel loss recently, I might as well put a set on.... If for nothing else than to make a miscreant thief have to maybe break at least a teeny tiny little sweat getting them off.

Impact wrench???? Lawd have muhcy.... I have one.... NEVER use it. Breaker bar, speed handle, and a tor-cue wrench. No impact on my lugs, thank you.

EDIT: should note that the seller offered me 50% refund (it was a "no refunds vendor"), I settled with 75% and I keep the lug nuts for spares... that amounted to about $1.25 per OEM lug nut. I'm ahead.... Nissan sells 'em for about $7 a piece. Hahahaha!

I have some because I work in the hood, and that extra 2 minutes taking them off is worth it. When people cant find the keys I have a easy out tool that grooves the side of the lug nut and gets them off. But I really don't like changing tires so I usually just tow the car. I would imagine if someone is into stealing wheels they probably have the same tool.

Mic, I think you're missing something.

Even though I have locking lugs, someone is going to get past those and steal my wheels anyway. If they try that hard, then I hope insurance buys me new wheels.

And lugs can be a set of locking lugs if you hit the key into the nut hard enough....

But on that note, i find that a set of locks is worth it. I bought mine for 40. And that can make a difference when it comes to keeping your wheels.

If the would be theif is an amateur, hell find another target. If the would be theif doesnt feel like he can get the lugs off quick enough hell move it along.

A set of lock isnt an anti theft measure. Its a theft detergent. If they want it bad enough, theyll get it. But a set of lock might convice them that its not worth it.

All my cars have locks. Its just a piece of mind knowing that im doing everything i can to help keep my expensive volks on my expensive car. No point in spending thousands on nice wheels and too cheap to buy a 40 bucks set of locks.

Just my worthless .02 though.

Call my crazy, but our car only has 4 wheels and we only need 1 lock per wheel.

Cars that have all locking lugs are looking for trouble. My RSX came like that when I first got it... Broken key and I had a pretty bad day that luckily only cost me some gross beer.

Good point about being a deterrent, same as locking doors or alarm systems if someone wants something bad they will get it. I unlock cars all the time with keys locked inside I always tell the people to think of this next time they lock something valuable in their cars... Usually takes well under a minute to get into a vehicle leaving no evidence that I was their. Imagine how fast someone who doesn't care about your car will get in.
