Default Question for fellow auto Z owners....

If you put the Z in the "manu-matic" mode will the tranny up-shift by itself or will it pass red line and beyond? Please only reply if you know for sure. Thanks

No, the transmission will not upshift by itself. If you keep it in low gear, it'll keep banging off the rev limiter until you upshift.

It WILL downshift automatically when you slow to a stop, however.

Yeah it will not upshift no matter how long you let it bang the rev limiter. Sometimes if you launch it hard from from a stop it'll spin so much in first that the tranny itself won't shift beyond first and it'll stay in first till you take the car off and start it over. Happened to me at the track ahhahaahhaha.

Beyond, the 1-2 shift can be tricky, but mine will hold to about 6900 rpms in all gears before hitting the rev limiter.

Just to clarify, it will downshift before you stop. I'm not sure of the exact speeds. I think it will downshift to 3rd if you get below ~20mph or so, and downshifts to 1st below ~7mph.

*edited to make sense*
