I Hate to do this, but I need some help with a fellow My350Z member.

One day I was browsing the Private classifieds and found an Escort S2 Solo Radar Detector for sale from Dth288. I PM'ed him as to wanting it. He responded that he'd take PayPal and promised to send it out 2 day shipping as I was leaving on vacation soon.

That was nearly three days ago. I have emailed him, left him PM and sent sent him more email. I have received NO replies yet. I even saw on his Icon list that he was on line at the same time I was. I sent him PM and he all of a sudden logged off.

MAybe I am being to hasty in posting this, but I am about to contact PayPal and start attempting to get my money back. All I'm looking for is SOME reply from him.

Anyone have any info other than what's in his profile? I feel I'm being avoided and might have got the shaft on this one.

In his PM's he provided me with either of two hotmail addresses to send the funds. His PM was signed "David"

When I check my PayPal transactions, the transfer was complete to the proper email address, but the sellers name is listed as Julie Nava.

I think its kinda fishy, that someone sent him the exact same thing he had for a xmas gift.

Well, he's on line now again, and I have a read receipt for my last attempt to get some shipping confirmation from him...

If I don't get any responses I'll be contacting PayPal.

IF for whatever reason he has been too busy to reply (to multiple attempts to reach him) I will whole heartedly apologize...

Until then... Just give me some INFO please....

Well, my PM was read and I got NO RESPONSE. I contacted PayPal and they will "investigate" That could take 30 days.

I doubt I'll see the radar detector since he won't even reply to me. I hope I can save some other members a few hassles...

That really sucks.
I'd let him know that you are going to file fraud charges with Paypal, the IFA, and the AG and give him one last chance to make good on it (with the radar or by returning the paypal payment). If he doesn't make good then file the fraud charges. I've seen it work out for a couple of persistent people after filing fraud charges and following up. The frauds get way messed up by it in the end when the law catches up with them and it inevitably does.

Let us know how this ends.

paypal will take care of you. In reality, if he doesn't respond to them in 7 days (which he won't if he is cheating you), they will give your money back then. I had this problem before.

He said he would send it 2 day shipping, and 'nearly' on the third day(not even one day late yet) you think you may have gotten shafted?

He should answer your pm's...but don't you think a post like this is a litttle premature? After all....he might have just shipped it, and the delivery company is a little slow.

Yes this MAY be premature. I have already stated that. However, I was contacted within a few hours after I inquired about the product. We then agreed on the price and method of payment and delivery. Since then I have paid him and heard NOTHING. I have asked in Email and PMs for a simple confirmation that he received the PayPal funds. (I know he did, I got an email from PayPal.) I also asked for a delivery tracking number for the simple rason that I am going on vacation. I want to get this thing before I go and not have it on my porch for a few weeks.

The BIG thing that scares me is that I got PM read receipts. I KNOW he got my mail. He has been ON LINE while I have been on and when I PM him again, he just disappears.

If he DID send it, you'd think that he could simply acknowledge that fact. Heck, tell me you sent it but didn't get a tracking number. Just confirm with me that you got the PayPal funds but have been too lazy to ship it. Just answer ANY of my correspondances.

IF he shipped it 2 day like we agreed upon, I'll have it tomorrow. If I get it, I will whole heartedly apologize and let the entire forum know that I got my product. (although I'll still wonder why he didn't answer any of my emails or PMs.)

hi everyone,

Well..... i really cant even beleive all of this.. first of all i was paid on tuesday afternoon, but paypal didnt tell me i had a payment until wednesday so i went to go buy a box to get it ready to ship for thursday morning (today). I DID SHIP THE RADAR, only i wasnt able to ship it until about 4:00 pm, since i had a lot of work to do.

I did read your PMs, i didnt respond because i hadnt shipped out the radar so i figured i would just wait until i shipped it out and then let you know. I APOLOGIZE FOR THAT, i should have given you a heads up, but i just didnt think anything of it. I didnt get off when you PMed me, that was just a coincidence. I mean why would i leave? nothing was going to happen.

I come home today and now theres a forum on how i'm a theif and paypal is going to be investigating me because i sent it out one day after i was supposed to! and to top it all off its my girlfriend's account and shes going to get the short end of the stick.

After i'm done writting this i will send Mathew a picture of the receipt (of the shipment). i would post it up here but i dont know how to, if anyone can tell me how i will be more that happy to do that.

sorry for this missunderstanding i just didnt think that this would escalate to this that fast. Anyway, the radar will be there, i guess just pay me when you recieve it. I did need the money soon but if you dont trust me thats ok i can wait.

I would suggest the mods not delete this, since it will give others an idea of what they might be in for if they sell anything 03 Z for ME unless they can teleport the item to him, WOW. Yes Dth288 probably should have been more responsive but others do have lives specially if they are not a retailer with a shipping department, even they take a day or two to get the item out.

Sorry you feel that way WestPak. I was only looking out for my best interests. You can clearly see that numerous times I stated I was only looking for some sort of response. I have already explained WHY I was in a hurry for the item, and was primarily looking for some communication. It's all being made right again.

Feel what you want about me, I understand that people have lives and get busy. I simply expect that PMs end email get answered in a timely manner when time is important and discussed before hand.

Just for a final bit of info that sort of scared me after receiving no responses. Dth288 is fairly new on the boards. His posts have almost all been in the Private clasified thread. I also checked ans found his PayPal account to be less than 60 days old and was NOT a verified member. After receiving no responses, it is highly possible that my fears got the best of me.

Again, I have apologized. Take it for what you will.

I should get the package, hopefully on Monday. I'll post a Thank you David, and provided a glowing post on Dth288.
