What are some good things to upgrade on my new 06 nissan 350z?
I would recommend you read the post on here about 'read before doing any modification to your car' or titled something like that, very insightful.
As to your op, nothing performance wise is under 500, well, anything that you'll actually feel. As previously stated, the jwt Popcharger is a nice intake for the price, makes a nice sound when you step on it too. Now, as it does sound nice i cannot say that it really makes a performance difference.
There are plenty of mods you can do for under 500, spacer and strut bar are a few simple mods but I would not call them performance as a lot of the z's stock oem parts are pretty damn good to start.
EDIT: if your just looking for visuals, then just google custom 350z to get some ideas and then start modding what you like; eyelids, louvers, stereo, or something as cheap as painting or wrapping some interior trim. It's all a matter of preference. Happy modding.

Lol, ahhhh...I am really starting to like it when people do not use the search function or just not read over the post already made. If they did then how would I get to read all the hiliarious comments that follow. Ahhh...made my night.
Dont listen to these guys justin. Theyre all losers, who have never turn a wrench before. One of them doesnt even own a 350z. Hes just a dreamer. Has some american v8 that cant turn corners.
Heres what you do, go and google "electric turbo" its a new development and is quite cheap. Works great too.
Now the problem is, since it is electronic, its quiet, so youre gonna need to pick up a couple of "turbo whistle." This allows that rices out honda that keeps reving at you at stop lights to know, youre packing serious power.
Whats a turbo without a tune right? Go ahead and pick up one of those "super chip" it tricks the ecu to give more fuel for your turbo.
As for exterior, run down to home depo and pick up a few paint cans, relatively cheap, and paint some cool designs on your hood and door. If youre not good with paint, just pick up a can of paint thinner and itll get the paint off so you can re try it.
Good luck and have fun modding!

$200 is plenty for what he's asking for...
- Start with a shorty antenna which is around $15-$20... check ebay/amazon.
- I'm not a fan of the bright orange side markers... There are clear ones you can get for cheap on ebay/amazon for maybe around $60... or you can smoke/black them out with some tint.
- To spice up the interior for cheap? Not many options... maybe vinyl wrap some of the dash parts yourself and get a new shift **** and boot.

$500... high flow cats. Sway bars. Springs. Exhaust(used).. But really car is great in stock form just upgrade the stereo. And start saving for gas... tires... And oil.... O damn they should call the 06 z the Nissan gto
One of the 1st things I got was a PC7424 buffer, my 06 looks like it just rolled off the line. Learn to wash, dry and clay properly, and start with Meguiers 205, it's safe. A clean Z is a great start.

Brutal.
But seriously Justin, I would work with what you have for a while. Get to know the car both in and out. It's used and most likely has some minor problems that need addressing.
If you're really itching to do some "cool" things to the car. Start with something simple like a popcharger and a nice detail on the interior/exterior. Keep a close eye on your oil level, 06s are known for oil consumption.
Since it's a 2006 with the RevUp engine, look into the Motordyne MREV2 lower plenum + spacer. Probably the best bolt-on you can get for that specific year.

Here's a good place to start get the Jim Wolf pop-charger for about 179.00 makes a good inexpensive upgrade which will actually be worth the money makes for a good first mod otherwise, I totally agree with what everyone else have be saying enjoy what you got for the mean while and definitely wait until you can buy some quality upgrades and take you time and do the necessary research before you spend a dime! http://www.jimwolftechnology.com/cus...asp?PartID=350
Ill never understand why people add Motordyne MREV2 lower plenum + spacer to a motor built to rev high with high end power.
EVERY dyno I have ever seen puts the car back to '03 status. When you can get a Velocity and make power up top instead.
I've driven a revup with that combo and yeah low end power, who cares my maruano has low end TQ too.

Don't listen to these guys. Modding a car is a hobby and is never practical, but like I said, it's an acquired interest or hobby. If you're looking into performance parts, start off with the motordyne 5/16" iso-thermal plenum spacer. Since you have a revup de engine, also look into the Motordyne MREV2 lower intake plenum. It's a bit pricey, but that's a great bolt on mod to start off with. Match it with a nice catback exhaust and an intake, like the JWT popcharger, then you got a nice performing car. Nothing crazy, but you'll notice a sweet gain in performance!
But seriously though.
$200 will get you stainless brake lines.
The other $500 will get you a nice set of pads and rotors. I went with Stoptech pads and their slotted rotors. Easily top three favorites for driving feel.
Then save up for the loud pedal ****.

Wheel spacers, upgraded Z emblems, wrap the roof in black, headlight eyelids. There are a few things to do if you want to make it look cooler with only 200$. Go easy guys, at least he isn't putting turbo, nismo stickers or Type R air freshners.
It's your car do with it what you wish. As long as your happy that's all that matters. But do some searching online of some Z's you like and see what they have done and get ideas.
