Hi all my car ran hot yesterday on the way home from work I've never had a problem with it at all and I started it today and sounds like a bent rod or something all help is appreciated I may need to pull the Motor not sure yet maybe someone else has had similar problems

 

What are you looking for? Did you over heat and now car is making crazy noises? How many miles? Do you still have coolant? Do you have watery looking oil? Does your exhaust look like a fog machine? Has your belt come off abd now its slapping around? Your not giving us much to work with here.

 

Yes it ran hot and I had it towed home everything is fine it just sounds like a tapping lifter no smoke 90k miles it's never ran hot and I didn't notice it it was spewing out of the overflow so I let it cool down and all I had to but was a half to one bottle of water in the radiator and 3 in the overflow so I tried to crank it and it's like the battery was dead so I had it towed home and tried to crank it again this morning and it has a noise in the top end it sound like to me like a bent rod or something maybe not sure

 

And yes the belts are on it had water in it and no smoke in exhaust or water in oil

btw, it ran hot for a reason..... you just don't know what caused it

 

Yeah I know it ran hot for a reason but I don't know why all of a sudden and now it's making this noise I may have to have it rebuilt not sure yet

 

I'm gonna get it to a shop somehow and see what they have to say

 

might be a blown head gasket

 

That wouldn't make it knock or tap whatever it's doing I wouldn't think

 

I was thinking the thermostat stuck and caused it to run hot but not really sure I don't have a lift or I would have been working on it does anyone know if the newer hr motors will fit in the 03 to 06 350s or how does all that work I know the hood is different but everything else is pretty much the same right ?

 

It is not all Pretty much the same, you might as well find yourself a wrecked GTO and swap in that motor if your going to go through all that trouble.

Or just stick with a DE... Im not saying it cant be done, (because it has been done before) im just saying it's not a direct replacement and its probably not worth the hassle.

 

Or you could get an sr20, though it will pull a premium a couple weeks before race wars.

Do you have something against punctuation and/or capital letters? I gave up trying to decipher that mess....
