Default Z wouldn't shut off, then randomly died while driving

2nd post here. I've had my 2005 Z (auto) for a bit over a month now and this is the first problem I've had. Earlier today I came home, put the car in park, put the E brake on and turned the key into the off position. Only problem is the car was still running. I couldn't believe it so i tried it again. Same result. I waited a few minutes then drove a couple mile and tried it again. It turned off. I tested this 4 more times in the next 30 minutes to feel more comfortable about it and it turned off every time. What could be the problem here? I'm pretty inexperienced with cars and also don't want to get ripped off by a mechanic. Is it a problem I can fix myself or with a friend's help or do I need a mechanic?

Also about an hour ago coming home I was driving on the freeway when all of a sudden my radio turned off and my AC shut off then my car just died. I quickly put on my hazards and pulled over to the side. I put the car in park and then turned it back on and it was running fine. I immediately got home and am now on here after trying to do some of my own research.

If anyone can help better identify the problem that would be great. Never had either of these problems in any car before and it's pretty dangerous so I want to get it fixed ASAP. Thanks!

Is your service engine light on? Seems to me like something is probably shorted out somewhere or a ground is loose, or your computer is jacked up... Best to bring it to a mechanic if your on here asking.

It also may be the key cylinder dying.

None of my lights came on at any point. I was thinking maybe something to do with the computer.
