in the image it looks like one flush piece... unless he bondo'd and resprayed it. sounds like a lot of work though for that. but def looks flush. thats why i like it.
Well the fact it's a small, semi bad resolution photo its hard to even say.
But I highly doubt it's a full hatch. But I wouldn't be surprised if it's a street queen or show car. Guys will go to great lengths to make body kits look flush or seemless.
Looks like he nailed it... thanks guys. That hatch looks clean with no gaps... probably a fortune and hard to find. Ive been looking for something like that though for a while because I hate spoilers... to ricer for me. But the flared lip looks amazing on the 350z rx7 and the M3's are notorious for them. I like them all flush no seems. so a complete hatch would be the cleanest I think without a lot of bodywork. Fun thing to wet dream about.
Asuka was notorious for inconsistency in fitment from part to part; they made double hump CF 350Z roof covers, vented CF hoods, and even CF hardtops for S2K's.. It was a gamble but they still were highly sought after.
My friend Brian has an original Asuka Type II CF HR vented hood (which has been repped countlessly since):

Haha not a garage job by me. But a garage job by a local friend. All in all I can say I have $600 into buying a spare hatch, the duckbill, and molding it. All while keeping oem fitment.
pyshin for the win... read up on it, and it sounds like people had horrible gaps with it installed
I always liked the Asuka hatch and a while back I talked to my body shop to see if they'd be willing to work with it for me. The owner said fawk no and it would likely cost me way more money to make it look right than should even be spent on a hatch. You basically have to cut the fcking thing in half and make all kinds of adjustments just to get them to sort of fit properly.
