Default Knocking/ Ticking noise

I just bought this car 3 days ago and i pulled up at home and it started making this noise. It did it once before but it only did it for a bout 15 seconds and then seemed to smooth itself out. What could it possibly be? My oil level is perfect and the motor doesnt have any power loss. Please tell me it's nothing major.

Probably popped the welds on the intake from NOS.

Seriously though, is it an automatic? Kinda sounds like a flexplate flopping around. Noticed it changed the sound when the rpms went up. Could be exhaust loose too. Strange that it comes and goes, does it matter if it's warm or cold?

You got a leak in one of your cylinders take a look at your spark plugs.

Its a 6-speed. And it does go with the RPM and it just sounds like something slapping. It quit doing it when I hit a bump or something but i'm not sure why at one point a liquid (i'm assuming anti-freeze) came out. And it doesn't matter about temperature but both times it's done it, the car was warm and I had been driving it for a while.

I was thinking the exhaust too because it seems like I hear a flutter noise constantly but the liquid coming out and sizzling still has me super confused.

If you watch the first video, at :20 you can see something red go by the whole I have the camera pointed at. I just noticed this when I re-watched it a second ago. Not sure what in the hell that would be.

Yeah I seen that, really weird. Did you switch the ac on or off and check for sound? Ac compressor clutch could be making noise and refrigerant could be the liquid. Never heard one that loud before though

I had an old prelude before and it sounded like that.. it was rod knock. Eventually just swapped a new engine in.

But if it were a rod knock why would it go away after I hit a bump? and no I didn't check to see if the a/c effected it or not.

OP start with taking the bumper off and taking a look.

just taking a video isn't going to help much of anyone especially if you haven't really even tried to source it your self aside from a warm ear..

Pop the hood and check the belts and everything else. If it stumps you take it to a qualified mechanic and think about possibly filing a scam listing.

cause that doesn't sound like a happy car at all. I'm honestly surprised you bought a car that sounded like that.

oh it didnt sound like this when i bought it or else I woulndt have gotten it lol. this noise came out of nowhere when i was driving it. I got sick with the stomach virus so i've been at home and not able to take it to dealership yet but i drove it to and from work yesterday and she sounds normal. I'll keep it updated to let everyone know just in case it happens to anyone else but i think its just some sort of debris stuck in my rocker panel underneath and sometimes it gets caught up in my belt.

It could be a loose flywheel, have you done some engine/tranny mods before that sounds came in?

Definitely take it to a mechanic. Could be something simple but it could be also be serious. Like CK_32 said, take off the front bumper so you can get a head on view but if you can't diagnose the issue then take it in to a trustworthy shop.

Don't remove your bumper. Don't know why anyone is suggesting that... All you're going to see is the A/C condenser. Just remove the under tray. Whatever that red thing is will fall out.

I personally haven't done anything to the car, I just bought it. But I have noticed there is a slight rattle at idle but if I press the clutch in, it quits. Was wondering if that had something to do with it. I'm going to stop by the Nissan dealership today and get a buddy of mine to check it out.

Good news. Went to the dealership, lifted up the car and seen that my belt was shredded in half. The noise was my other half of the belt slinging against something metal underneath the car i'm assuming and when I drove it around the block, the other piece got ripped off. 2 new Nissan belts and hopefully problem solved. Thanks to everyone for their input. Sometimes things are alot easier than they sound.

You had to take it to a dealer to see you're missing half a belt? Should of just took it there to begin with, sounds like you were asking for advice but weren't going to be able to do anything with the advice anyways.
