Radiator fans always on
Hello everyone, just wanted to drop in and get your guys input regarding my radiator fans. The car doesn't show any symptoms of overheating but it gets up to operating temps quite quickly. After a half hour or so of driving without any traffic, the coolant temperature gets up to around 200-208 degrees Fahrenheit with both rad fans running. I am a bit concerned as it gets this hot quickly in winter weather as the temperatures have been between 20-40 degrees Fahrenheit and could be a problem in the spring/summer. Like I said, the car doesn't overheat, cabin heat is always available whether it be up to speed or in idle. I tried bleeding the system this weekend and temps remained about the same with no overheating. I did however notice that the lower radiator hose did not warm up like the upper one did. Is this normal for the 350? Thanks in advance.

I've actually spent a bit of time researching this on this forum including vq35hr groups around the internet. I do understand it could be 1) air pockets in the system 2) a bad thermostat that isn't opening 3) a gunked up/blocked rad and 4) (hopefully not) a blown head gasket. I simply wanted to get some feedback here considering most people who have posted about this topic with a cold lower rad hose have reported ice cold air being blown into the cabin while my Z has had no issues getting heat into the cabin while in idle or in motion. Just wanted to trace it the best I could rather than spending money or little workarounds that wouldnt help.

Yeah ill be picking up the spill free funnel just in case since I see that it comes in useful when it comes time to refilling the system once the new tstat is in

Just had this issue. Nightmare to bleed system. Do exactly how the manual says. Personally I had no luck with the funnel. Get the front of the car up in the air as well.

It's funny how people say it's a night mare to bleed the system lol
Tho time consuming, it's probably the easiest thing you can do honestly..
All you have to do is get a non spill kit and run your car at idle for like 30 min a few times until bubbles stop and temps chill.
That will probably fix your issue since it's that's usually the case. I had to do mine when I first fixed my Z.. and I had almost only air in my system.
