Default Seat belt rattle

I am sure many of you get annoyed with the rattling seat belt noise when the passenger seat is empty. I know about the clip provided on the B column but it still makes noise even when cliped on and I get tired of having to clip it back everytime someone rides in my Z as well.

I have seen the NISMO seat belt pad. Do these fix the rattling problem? Any other ideas? This fix will cost me $20 so if you got a good idea, let me know.

Thanks, Jeff

Jeff,

What I have done in the past is to slide up the metal clasp up the belt so it is locked behind the plastic clip, also.

Might try heating up the clip with a hairdryer and pushing it in to tighten it up.

Good luck.

Jeff at Performance is not sure if the NISMO belt pad stops the rattle. Does anyone own one that can verify they get rid of rattle? I dont want to pay $20 for a item just to say NISMO on it.

sounds like you have a '03... you need the '04 seatbelt extender. it puts the seat belt off of the B column so there's no rattling. i don't know if you can get it added on to the '03s or not but you should look into getting it put in if at all possible.

Thanks for pics! Did yours rattle prior to installing them? I am wondering if you noticed the problem or just installed them for looks mainly and had no problem with the rattle?

I just clip it into the seat belt release, it looks nice, and is quiet. If you have passengers riding a lot it might be a pain though.

I have the NISMO pads on my Z. If you make sure any slack in the belts is taken up, the thickness of the pads seem to take up any looseness and play-- I haven't noticed any rattle.

Pads were already on the car, installed by dealer-- along with NISMO CAI, catback exhaust and floormats. Feels more comfortable with the pads when you are wearing the seatbelts too!

Give them a try!
