Default LSD. Do you really need it?

Hey everyone. Just bought my 2004 Lemans Sunset 350Z, base model. So far i'm loving it, even though it doesn't have the LSD, HIDS, or Cruise control. I care more about the weight of the vehicle and the engine being the same.

People on the other boards say I should've got the Enthusiest model for the LSD. Do I really need it? Until I'm putting some real horsepower to the ground, I don't think I really do. I live in Arizona, where it rarely rains, and doesn't snow. The car seems to handle really well, I can spin out the back with no problem in a turn, but nothing I can't handle.

Besides, I can always add an LSD later after I'm putting some more HP to the ground if I feel that I need to. And I plan on adding the HIDS soon also, and maybe the 18" RE track edition wheels.

Does anyone here ever drive with their Traction Controll turned off? Just wondering.

Anyway, Im very happy to be a part of the 350Z crowd, and no longer a ricer DSM'er hehe

Welcome. I've got my own thoughts about base models, but since you live so close... I'll keep them here in my pocket. Check out www.desertzassociation.com. Great people, lots of Zs, tons of events.

This is why you get the Roadster

Heh, just traded in my Eclipse Spyder. I liked it, but didn't like the excess road noise, and added weight. Plus, I had a couple of problems with the top because it was the first producton year of the spyder. So, this being the first production year of the Roadster, I was kind of weary about buying it. Thanks for the link, i'll check it out.

Unless you plan on doing some racing/fast cornering, then LSD is not necessary IMO. But it IS nice to have though.

If you were to have one of your rear wheels in a ditch, then a LSD would be VERY desirable.
