Another day without my Z
As to MY Z(ordered 2/15).........went to see my salesman, who I haven't seen since February, and to try to get a copy of the new sales brochure. And to see in person some paperwork that it has been ordered. Mostly bad news....they haven't gotten the new brochures, but will mail me one when they arrive). My Z has been delayed with an expected date of November, not late October. I did see their computer printout that it has been ordered. VIN has not been assigned. I did verify that they know I do not want the front plate bracket installed. And they are looking into pricing of Blizzak snow tires as a swap.
So I left to stop at Barnes & Noble to find a copy of the new Sports Car International magazine. No luck. Onward to my Dentist appointment.
Approaching Star Nisson on Touhy, I spot a Lemans Sunset Z, the only color I have not yet seen in person, parked out in front, with California MFG plates, Burnt Orange Leather, Touring package, with an Auto. Pulled in, with hopes of getting the brochure there. No, nadda, but the salesman put me on a list for November deliveries(?). As I was leaving, getting very close to my dentist appointment time, the driver of the Z was getting paper work out, so I started BSing, he MADE me sit in it and start it up, and play with everything.....such torture!!!!!! Felt great, can't wait much longer for mine!
Turns out he is there for sales training, and gave me a copy of the Quick Reference Guide, which is a 8 page guide so owners quickly figure out the Z's nuances, without drudging through the full owners manual. Cool!
He spotted my Lotus belt buckle, and so we spent a while BSing Lotus ****......he has 2 Esprits, an his brother has a Lotus 6 (appx 1958). He asks if I'm going to Lake Geneva (the national Lotus meet is there starting tomorrow at the Abby). It's supposed to rain, but I have the day off, and I have to work the rest of the weekend, so I may go to show off my clean teeth!
Wish I still had this to bring:
