Default De vs. Rev up vs. Hr

Hey guys, I know all the difference between all 3 motors and their quirks and things from lots of online research. I've got an opportunity to buy an 06' with 60,000 miles, and an 08 with 50,000 miles. The 06 is definitely priced much lower, but it's a rev up, should that be a concern? I know the facts about it, i.e. Less torque and eating oil, but should that be a concern at all?? Is it completely worth it to spend more on an HR? I feel bad for asking this question as I'm sure there are threads out there on it, but I could not find one. I'm just seriously looking for the opinions and experience from people who have actually owned them! Keep in mind I have never owned a Z. But they are absolutely the car I've wanted for years... this is a car that would be very special to me and I want it long term, so the experience provided would be extremely helpful to me 😊

If it were me I'd spend the extra for the HR.

Depends. I'd rather have a well taken care of Rev-Up than a beat HR. Which one has the most adhered to maintenance record?..

I like the above statement, wichever has been taken care of. I got a 03 de Z like 5 months ago, yes it burned decent but the catch can setup I did get for it has cut down I'd say 80% of the oil usuage, and I love my Z and don't even really mind adding oil as much as I did befor the catch can just fact I love the car. The de and hr has been against each other on the Facebook page hella bad but it's up to you an wichever you like personally and wichever has been taken care of, the hr has different hood as far as looks little different too, I'm love my 03 de tho, no complaints, love all z's lol

Since I own a preorder '03 track model (with a VQ35DE) and have owned and raced Z33s in SCCA and NASA with both the Revup and HR, the spectrum of these engines in stock form are pretty tight. Yes, the HR is quite different in design/spec and worth a bit more, but as others have said, the best maintained and cared for Z33 is probably the best deal.

this is the best advise you could ever get....

unless you want to go like me and spend 5k on re-built engine.

My vote goes to HR. I have a Rev Up and burns oil significantly as it ages. I hope HR is doing better on the oil consumption.
