2003 350-Z Touring 6-speed Manual, Bose sound system. NO navigation.
I want to put a 'modern' radio in this Z, with CD, Bluetooth phone connection, USB connection, and XM radio.
First question: is the wiring harness a nice 'plug and play' system?
Second question: any recommendations for a radio with push button/**** controls (not touch screen) and good visibility in bright sunlight?
Thanks in advance
The wiring harness is just about the same as any other car. You will still need to buy an adapter and wire it to the after market's harness. I prefer to solder the wires together but you may use butt connectors or easier install.
As for a radio recommendation. Two years ago I understood why someone wouldn't want a touch screen. For all the touchscreens were not well made and too expensive. That's why I got this two years ago: https://www.crutchfield.com/p_158WXG...T.html?tp=5684
However in today's market I'd go with a touchscreen for just a little more money.
i picked up this single din unit as an open box from best buy for 40 bucks. doesnt play cd or dvd (not that i have any) and connected to an old android phone with a carplay app. it turns on automatically when i start the car, i have navigation, cracked pandora and spotify, retro game emulators OBD bluetooth connect plus alot more. for 40 bucks and alittle bit of wiring, you cant beat it. dont waste your money on an aftermarket radio. I have had so many different set ups and always was left wanting more. there is no way im spending 600 dollars on a radio when i can have better functionality with an old android phone. oh yeah i also had an old nissan maxima slide out coin tray laying around in my garage that i modified to fit the Z's radio opening. hit me up if you want more details.

If you want to keep the Bose speakers with the aftermarket head unit, you'll need the PAC ROEM-NIS2 since the Bose speakers operate under lower ohms than the standard 4 ohm that aftermarket units use.
