Default Brown fluid leak?

Hey,

I currently drive a Nissan 350z 07' and I have just installed new non resonated test pipes and is working well. My concern is that right after the install, my SES or service engine soon, sign has poped up on my dashboard. Maybe I need an oil change? It's been four thousand miles since I've changed it and I'm going to change it soon, I usually do it every four thousand miles. Two days later, I stopped to get some food and when I got back to my car there was a weird brown fluid that seemed to leak from under the car? I smelled it and it didn't smell like oil. Since then it's been 3 days and it hasn't happen again. Any thoughts of what this can neccessisarily mean?

go get the codes read, my bet is they are the downstream o2 sensors.... common with test pipes. change the oil and look for leaks while under there

CEL won't come on for needing an oil change. You would probably get the oil light if you are dangerously low.

Sounds like you are leaking oil. Having had a car that leaked oil (1993 B13) I would start by parking somewhere clean overnight, then moving the car and locating where on the car the oil is leaking. Once you have some sort of idea, put the car in the air and start checking. If it is in the engine bay, start at the top and work your way to the bottom. Check the seal on the oil pan, the oil filter, etc.

Only other fluids that might have brownish fluid would be tranny, diff, and brake fluid. Like I said, first step is finding out where on the car you are getting the leak from, then try to locate.

Good luck!

Alright, I'm gonna get to it as soon as I get home. Let's hope the problem isn't too big....
