Default 350z '06 Headers.

Yo guys,

I am thinking of replacing the headers of my '06 Z Uk model coz they I think they are in bad condition, I'm hearing some noises coming from there, they might be the heat shields tho.. but any ways I might as well replace with stainless steel performance headers.

I was wondering if anyone has the procedure of replacing the headers because my mechanic is talking about dismantling suspension and what not just to get to the headers and I thought I should ask for some information before I spend loads of labour to change the headers.

Anyone got a step by step easy to understand procedure so I can have an idea of the install time and forward it to mechanic

Appreciate any information anyone can provide

Cheers all, peace out

It is a pretty damn big job. Hence why it's the only part of my exhaust I haven't touched yet.

What noises are you hearing? How are you diagnosing this?

the install is a PITA, and the gains you get are minimal for the labor intensive swap

This is how it sounds like.

Seems like a ratting heat shield. I have no idea how to diagnose these noises. Does anyone have a procedure how I should tackle this ? Because I don't know how to find from where it is coming from. I assume its related to exhaust because the noise isn't continuous but does it at different rpm's. I was blaming the headers because its the only thing that I have oem stock. I'm using Motordyne TDX v2 exhaust and the Motordyne ART pipes instead of the cats.

Any ideas ?

my bet is the drivers side heat shield is too close to the art pipe. crawl under there and see how much room you have, i had to bend mine with a pry bar to give it room. another thing to check it to see if it is hitting on the m brace, mine was and all i did was wedge a piece of exhaust hanger rubber between the piping and brace

All I did was listen to Justin Timberlake, take off the old, and put in the new.. Easy peasy Lemmon squeezy.

Kind of Sounds like a heat shield vibration, how difference is the noise versus driving on the road?
