I am thinking about buying a header for my Z. I am currently debating which one to get. The main reason is the price.
Nismo cost around $950 and Borla cost about $595.
I really like the Nismo and the gain it had but the price is too high. The Borla has great price but the problem is that I don't know how much HP and TQ gain it has. Also, I heard some HORROR Stories about intalling them. That Borla does not fit right and it really BEACH to put it on.
Is Nismo worth paying $350 more?
What do you guy think? I need help in deciding.
Please post your stories or your opinion. Especially in Borla installation.
Thanks

from what people have said in past posts the borlas don't have much to offer in terms of gains compared to nismo, crawford etc..
Not sure if they're already out but maybe you could wait for the DC headers and see what their pricing is.

a guy on here sent me an article he wrote in a mag about the borlas on a g35. midrange gains were 10-15 hp and peak was about 5. the dc's give u better gains after peak. preference depends on what u r lookin for. i would think the better midrange would b nicer, but that's just me. i can send u the read when i get home tonight.

I used to have the Borla headers. Based on what we learned from dynos, the Borlas made almost no power gains. They do sound as good as an aftermarket header should.
For the amount of effort it takes to swap out the headers (6-10 hours depending on the replacement brand), you should spend a little more and get some real horsepower gains. I'd definitely go with the Crawford or Nismo. Cost a little more, but the better gains are worth it!

where are you getting nismo's at that price??
i got to start buying them from there rather then from NISSAN...
$1125 for NISMO Headers...
and their new design is beautiful... the flanges's anc collectors are much smoother on the NISMO then the borla

go with the nismo headers
IMO, Get the Crawfords. Installation is tougher, but the power putput seems to be the best. Nismos are good, but expensive. Borla, no gain from what I can see. Stillen, well let's just say, not a company I'd do business with. Don't forget to do High Flow Cats at the same time. Again, I recommend Crawford, with Kinetix a close second.
