Question 17" 7 spoke wheels

Does anyone have pictures of the 17" 7 spoke Enthusiast wheels?

All I've seen so far are the 18" 6 spoke Rays for the Track Model and the 18" 6 spoke wheels that will be on the Touring and Performance models.

If I don't like the 17" 7 spoke wheels, I'll probably go with the Performance model as opposed to the Enthusiast model I've been planning to order. The difference in price is not negligeable though so I want to know what I'm going to end up with.

By the way, I DO NOT want the VDC. That's why I'd prefer the Enthusiast version in the first place.

Thanx

Thanks.

Unfortunately my speculations are confirmed. I don't like those wheels at all.

Can you option the 18" Performance wheels/tires on an Enthusiast Z? I'd rather do that than order the Performance model with all the other stuff...

That post didn't have any pictures or links to pictures of the 17" wheels (not that I could see atleast) but I am familiar with search function message board etiquette and I'll use it in the future.

Actually, it did Phi. I asked the question a little earlier and I believe dvlad provided the link.

OK-

I was looking at another thread. I was wrong.

Still, my question is this: Can I option the 18" wheels without buying the Performance model instead of the Enthusiast?

well it seems like if you got the 18s from the dealer you'd be stuck with your 17s too, and you'd pay replacement part prices, which'd probably drive up the cost of the car to performance territory anyway.

what you could try to do is deal with the 17s for a while and buy a set of the standard 18s from a guy who upgraded his 18s to aftermarket.

Yeah-

That's what I was thinking might be a good option. I assume allot of people will be buying Touring or Performance models and looking to upgrade to aftermarket wheels so maybe I could go with the Enthusiast and buy someone elses wheels/tires.

That way I'd have the wheels I wanted and an extra set of tires.

Or I could just go with a Performance model and have the VDC and tire pressure monitors for an extra $1600. Either way... it'll be a Z.

Default 17's vs 18's

The 18" wheels available at the dealer are $1600.00 for the wheels only. Add the cost of 18" tires to the mix and you could be spending an add'l $1200- $1400 on top of the wheel cost. Is it worth it. If you're gonna do that, I might be interested in buying your tires. I'll probably opt for a 17" rim similar to a SSR Integrals polished. I absolutely can't stand clearcoated rims. One chip and you're screwed forever, peeling, chipping, salt, etc..

Just get the Performance package.

That's why I got it, the rims, tires, pressure monitor (has PSI per wheel), plus the few extra goodies like VDC. Many say that last one's a lifesaver.

Total cost is basically $30k flat. A $2000 difference is "peanuts" spread across 5 years, even w/ interest you're talking about an extra $50/month. That's way less than just the wheels, plus you get all the extra stuff.
