Default 4.08 vs 4.36

Happy Friday.

Looking to order a new final drive on Monday and would like some advice from people who have actually driven with different gearing.

Info:
-Dedicated drift car, not street driven
-Trailered to the track
-Stock DE
-18"s square usually 18-30 psi

I currently have a diff with a 3.3 as well as a 3.5. Looking to add another to the family!

Question is as title states... 4.08 vs 4.36!?!

With the 3.5 mounted up, it's a challenge to keep the wheels spinning in third without blasting the tire pressure up to 40 psi

The track i'm building this diff for is gonna be 90% 3rd gear, but I may have to drop down to second around 1 slow corner...

What are your thoughts?!

It's a matter of working out the gearing you require isn't it, there are on line calculators for that purpose. Just make sure that your stock DE does not get over revved, you will need your tyre diameter for the calculator.

I know this older post but I’m in the market and your thread came up. You ever decide on which one you went with, lot people taking to me last drift event about 4.08 but other day fee dudes told me hop on 4.36.. basically tired of being in 2 bumping that redline..
