Texas mile style event ???
Guys im looking to enter fighting torque a texas mile style event here in the UK in august. Its held on a 2.25 mile runway. 0mph to vmax in a standing mile with 1/4 mile time/trap speed and total mile time/topspeed recorded.
My car will be making around 500RWHP and similar torque on a dyno dynamics so 550RWHP DJ. The car has 275 R888's and a viscous OEM diff/3.5 FD. 6spd man box.
What do you think I can hit topspeed wise in a standing mile? Ive seen a stock-ish (n/a mod'ed i think??) hit 138mph so what do you guys think I could aim for ??
Thanks.

Other 550rwhp range cars hit in the 170mph range....gearing of these cars may be an issue though...they are not geared to go that fast so you are going to spend a lot of time in 5th and probably 6th....5th is 1:1, and 6th is OD, which does not lend it self to good long pulls like that.
also you may want to make sure you have propper cooling, and maybe make some heat shields around the turbos...they will be making mucho heat.
What do you rev to? 7500rpm in 5th with a 26in tire, and 3.5 diff is 167mph

Im only reving to 6.6K stock DE rev limit.
The wheels are 18" on a 275/40/18 tire.
If i got well into the 160mph range Id be very happy!

That should cover the heat.
With that tire and rev you will hit just shy of 150mph at the top of 5th, so you should be going into 6th in the mile. If you get it to just over 6K rpm in 6th, thats about 170mph
Let us know how it goes!!!!!

The miami mile numbers have been pretty contested by everyone it seems....I have no doubt that car was north of 170-175mph, but don't know how much faith I have in the numbers that timing system gave....especially since some of the numbers have even been stated by some of the competitors to be beyond the gearing capabilities of their cars.
Still fast stuff though.
And let us know how you do.

Even with a 3.3FD and 7000rpm's tp play with you would be hitting 6th right at 160mph.
If I had to guess, if you could hook up from 2nd gear on @ 550whp, 160mph easy.
Without knowing the cams you run and the shape of your power curve though it could be slightly less.

6MT's have 3.5FD
5AT's have 3.3FD
now there are more rev's in the HR's vs the DE's....that is the big diff...HR's rev to 7500rpm stock.
