Default Thinking about doing a HR swap for my 05 350z.

Most would tell me to do a LS swap. But I want the car to all Nissan.

Welcome, but get ready to do more work than simply bolting up the engine. After swapping an '07 HR into a '06 Z for Nissan Sport Magazine for a series of articles almost a decade ago, there were plenty of electronic/wiring issues. That was OK for a racecar, but don't expect it'll be a plug-n-play experience. Plenty of threads on here about some who've tried this, and some claim success. All I can say is--despite expert help from a Nissan technician--there are several systems that still don't function properly and CELs that'll never go away.

Do more research before you commit to this project. If it were my Z, I'd rather sell a good DE powered Z and buy a good HR-powered Z to make this change.

Thanks for you help I think I’ll stick with the 05 350z engine and just get it the twin turbo kit.

In about 30 min you went from wanting an HR swap to twin turbo. I KNOW you're going to get this done because it's in writing. Order the kit and post your receipt.
