"For the speedometer, set everything up so it is steady and nothing will fall about in the car. These next steps are much easier and safer with the help of a friend, also I would add that they should be completed on a private road with plenty of space or on a dyno. Set the multi function LCD to read speed, take the car out and raise the speed to 20mph, place the needle in the correct position for 20mph. Now increase the speed in increments ensuring the needle reads the same as the digital display all the way through. This must be completed above 20mph, anything less is to low to get an accurate placement."

So I set the cruise control to 30 and put the needle on and it seemed as though it was working just fine. Drove home reassembled the gauge cluster and started the car back up and now it won't move from 0mph.. What is going on?

My guess is that the socket of the needle that fits over the needle "post" is stripped. So the speedometer needle "post" is turning within the needle socket, and it's not grabbing to move the needle.

When I put the needle on while driving it was working properly though it would go up when I got on the gas and drop when I got on the break. Thats why I thought I had fixed it and put it back together just to find out when I turned the car back on it wasn't moving from 0.

Thank you soooooo much 813_350 I was able to fix my speedometer tonight. I did exactly as you said and it is working this time. The trick I think was doing it at exactly 20 mph where as before I did it at 30.
