Default Got owned by a 1997 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4??

My friend just got a bone stock 1997 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 - I'll call it a VR4 from now on.

I have a 2007 350Z HR, also bone stock.
I don't know much about them. He said they weigh 3680 lbs and have a twin turbo V6 with 320HP/315TQ and AWD to top it off. I rode in it and it was a beast, definitely felt faster from a dig than a 370Z.

We went from a dig, by 140mph I was 3 cars behind and losing ground.
40 roll I got a slight jump then he reeled me in and put buslengths on me.
60 roll was the same as the 40 roll.

He doesn't like to race much, but I know he has run a 13.21@103.88mph, I saw the timeslip, yes it said stock. He's owned a ton of VR4s and Stealths. Met him recently, he seems like a cool guy. Complimented my Z.

I've beaten plenty of stock 300ZX Twin Turbos, what gives here? He's not lying about being stock. We both have 60-70k miles on our cars.
Is my Z slow, am I a bad driver, or is the VR4 just fast?

Thanks,

Dave

a stock HR with a good set of tires on stock rims should be able to do low to mid 13s. He shouldn't be pulling buses on you.

It's all fun and games until OP loses control at 140 mph and plows into someone's wife or neighbor. Then it gets real. I work with people who survived car wrecks every day, they don't think paralysis and brain injuries are a bit funny. Especially when they were minding their own business.

I didn’t put enuff smiley faces on that?

I am totally in agreement with you. Anyone who really does any of this sh*t deserves to have their keys taken away from them. I don’t give a crap what happens to the fool but you mess with innocent people around, expect the worst.
