Default Ecm problem

Alright so about a month ago I had a limp mode problem. Did everything to my knowledge with no luck. Took it to a Nissan dealership and found my ipdm was crumbling. Got a new ipdm put on but no luck. He ended up finding a short in a ground wire goin to my ecm. Now he is saying the ground wire has power again but the ecm keeps losing its memory every time he cycles the key. Has anyone ever experienced this issue? I’m at a loss here and don’t know what else it could be. And I do have a tune on the ECU if that matters.

I've been down this road before. All I can say is "good luck".

One bit of advice I can give, don't buy junkyard ecms as most of them are going to be bad, and you ARE going to spend approx $150 every time you take one of them to the dealership to have it reflashed to you vats.

Here is how to get around this. Go on Ebay, and find a used ecm with EXACT matching numbers as your old ecm. Make SURE you get the matching key switch [which will have the matching VATS] , and MASTER KEY. Install everything, and if the ecm is good the engine should start. This way it should be a plug/play. Many Ebay ecm's are now listed with all of the matching components so it shouldn't be too hard to find.

That way if the Ebay ecm is bad you can just send it back without hassle vs buying a local ecm at a junkyard where they won't take it back, annnnnd you will have spent approx $150 at the dealership to find out it was bad.
