Question Turn signals always blinking with lights on

This is annoying and I can't solve it. Whenever I turn on the lights (either parking or headlights) both sides turn signals blink. Now, a bit of background for those who haven't followed my build thread. This is a track car that has been gutted. At one point I managed to fry the ECU and had to put in a replacement with immobilizer disable to get it going again. I also (mostly for giggles) installed strobe bulbs in the reverse lights and blue bulbs in the rear turn signals. I thought maybe I used the wrong bulb type so I went back to stock bulbs but the problem persists. Recently I also deleted front headlights and installed resistors in place of turn signal bulbs in the front to prevent fast flashing. That didn't fix it. I even took the rear turn signal bulbs out completely and blinkers still get activates when I turn on the lights. Otherwise everything seems to be working fine, with the lights off the turn signals work correctly and the hazard switch works fine. I'm wondering if disabling the immobilizer triggered some sort of alarm settings that causes the turn signals to blink? Or is there a relay/module that's responsible for both headlights and turn signals that maybe got fried? Anyone else seen this behavior?

Probably bc this is one of the most bizarre electrical questions ever. SO much has been changed- ECU, headlights removed, strobes...Any way- whenever I'm troubleshooting I try to understand exactly what has changed since something worked correctly. Then I can hope to reverse it. Since it's a track car I'd try pulling the hazard (flasher) relay 1st. Gl!

Yeah, I realize it's a convoluted situation. Being a track car I didn't realize the issue was there until after I replaced the ECU and the bulbs, etc. Lights is not something I use very often but once a while we run an evening session where having lights on is recommended. But back to the subject, I don't think the 350Z has a separate hazard relay. Isn't it built into the Body Control Module? I guess I can try disconnecting the hazard switch, but as I said, with lights off it works correctly...

Replacing the A/C control module seems to have fixed the problem. I picked up another used module of eBay for like $25 and plugged it in, no more flashing turn signals when I turn on the lights. I guess the original module was damaged after all.

Glad to hear you figured out a solution and props for posting it up. BTW- I've resisted modifying my Z33 racecar too much for this very reason. Electrical architecture can be a problem. Stripping wire harnesses and pulling components may lighten the car, but constant rule changes have Zs ballasting weight anyway, so I've left most things well enough alone.

Yeah, I hate electrical gremlins. I already had to swap the ECU and now the control module. I'm not cutting away any unused wiring just not to fry anything else. I did pull all unnecessary fuses so at least the unused wiring doesn't carry power, less likely to short out on something.
