Need help! Planning to Boost FBO 350z
Alright so I have a 2006 FBO tuned 350z and my job is giving me a $5-$6k bonus in a few months and I need input, would it be realistically possible for me to s/c my z for $4-$6k? And if so, what would be my necessary parts list? Thanks for any input guys! Also let me know what you would do to your Z if you had 4-6k to spend on it!
Lets start here:
So you have a 2006 with assuming the Rev-up engine?
Automatic or Manual?
Are you experiencing any oil burn issues with your engine? or any other mechanical issues with the engine?
how many miles are on the engine?
How mechanically inclined are you? Can you do any of the install yourself? Can you weld/fabricate yourself? or know anyone that can help you with this?
How much power do you want out of the car? and what do you want to do with the car after you are done building?
Is this your daily driver?
How familiar are you with tuning and/or engine management?
Do you have a shop / large garage to work in / spread out?

5at non revup. I’ve done all fbo mods and gears myself but that’s it in terms of mechanical experience. I’m pretty much wanting a shop to handle most of the install. I have 99k miles and no mechanical issues and no oil burn. Hoping for 375-400whp
I wouldn't let just any shop attempt this. You'll want someone who can do dynamic tuning on a Dyno, then real-life tuning on the road. I think the closest specialty shop to you is Dynosty in Louisville. These guys know the Z33 and are legit. Start here-

Dynosty, like JHC suggested, would be the best place to take the car. But probably overkill for what you are looking for.
Well good! You are set ... You got a budget, you have realistic goals, and you have a trusted shop...
you'll need 6 to 8psi of boost to make 375hp. Maybe you bump that up to 10psi to hit 400 - who knows?
You'll essentially need a supercharger kit. I would suggest Vortech or ATI Procharger.
Get the complete supercharger kit as it'll have everything you need.
Sounds like you have Uprev to tune with?
other considerations
-Have you upgraded your fuel injectors and fuel system? You may need a return fuel system($1500), larger injectors($300), and larger pump($120)
-Add an oil cooler($200)
-Research what transmission upgrades you can make?
-Consider a harmonic dampening crank pulley
factor in dyno & tuning time - probably 3hrs @ $200/hr
In the mean-time, research/read-up on what other 350z vortech/procharger guys have done on their setups.

Thank you so much!! Great info and advice!!! This is why I love the z community! Ultimately I’ve decided that my best route will be to use that money for c8 cams and oil cooler and transmission cooler and a few other small things. I don’t think I’m financially prepared to take on such a task as boosting the Z. I plan on making it a track car and I figure it would be smarter to start tracking it while it’s still N/A. I’m 19 and don’t need 400whp anyway, I barely manage to stay out of trouble as it is lol. Although I have many goals, I will boost my 350 in a year or two. I have a 370 for a daily and my 350 is my weekend toy, it’s just more fun!

Odd at 19 that you have realistic goals and also 2 Nissan 2 seaters. Congrats.

Fresh out of high school I landed my dream job and I’m very motivated to achieve my goals. Both my 350 and 370 where attained through my hard work and not provided by mommy and daddy lol. Nows time for me to focus on getting my own life set up, and once I get that ball rolling... Boost here I come

start a build thread...
Would I need a new fuel pump or new injectors for only 350-400whp? Or would I need only the Supercharger kit?
I just got my procharger to be where I want. Took some modifications on my own to make it work without issues. Their design is horrible(imo) but quick machine work and different belt and im loving it.
Have fun, take it slow and enjoy the thing!
