Default Part # of stock VLSD?

Anybody know what part number stamp I should be looking for to know a diff is a VLSD manual? I know they should be stamped "GD" but that was a paint stamp of which is far worn off almost all of them now. Any other way to tell? I am thinking I want to grab a cheap used VLSD off ebay for like $200 just to slap in the car for the time being. Just don't feel like dropping 2k on an OS Giken build right now.

I might sound stupid for saying this but I think the LSD pumpkins are the only ones that will have a round flange at the input. There's a local dude to us that parted out Zs and Gs he usually posted stuff up on Craigslist, has decent prices and could pick it up.

Pretty sure I just found the guy on Craigslist. I'll hit him up tomorrow and see what he has. Thanks.

I'd recommend saving that money towards the differential build if you are serious about it. The oem Nissan v LSD is pretty garbage when it comes down to its function. The internal viscous fluid pack, different from the differential oil that can be replaced, is completely un-serviceable, typically is worn out by 20k miles, and is extremely prone to overheating and won't lock consistently or reliably. I've also read that it is only capable of transferring around 30% torque at full lock to begin with. It's good if you want to check off a box that says you have an LSD, maybe put down a pair of 11's from a dig but sketchy for sliding or real performance use.

I would agree that's the logical thing to do. However, 30% lock for $200 seems like a pretty good deal when considering 80% lock costs $2000.

Also forgot to mention, might want to try to get a 370Z or G37 pumpkin so you can have one with both lower miles and also the 3.69 FD.

Is it the autos or the manuals that have the 3.69?

This is a pretty handy chart to refer to when trying to figure out which cars have 3.69 gears: https://cdn.z1motorsports.com/upload...GearRatios.pdf
