Ok guys I’m sure many of you know this already and most probably don’t care but if it helps someone down the line it’s worth it.
finally put the new engine into my 2006 350z today, and couldn’t for the life of me get the engine to line up with the tranny. I’ve done Plenty of engines before and trannys, but never has one pissed me off like this one 😂. The bottom of the motor couldn’t clear the steering rack no matter what and I wasted a solid few hours unable to get the engine in.
anyway if you simply jack the transmission up 6 inches or so the motor goes in extremely easy.
so that’s it.
like I said I’m sure many of you know this already but I searched literally everywhere and found nothing on this. Hopefully this post helps someone someday so they don’t have to stupidly waste their time like me 😂
first time installing an engine in a rwd car today. Done a million fwds and trucks but never had this issue until the Z.
