I just went to my local Nissan dealership today and saw my first Z up close. You are TOTALLY correct to say that it is one thing in the pictures, and something different in person. I wanted to have sex with the car the second I saw it. Stupid dealer wanted almost $50,000 for it. I told him i'd rather get a Z06 if I were to spend that much money. I'll just wait a few months till the prices drop and then get one.

So I have 700 (somewhat easy) miles, do I have permission to cut some doughnuts yet? I keep seeing posts of doughnuts, I want to try. Can I, Can I, Please, Please! Its kinda wet out side, I bet I can do it with out killing my tires.

Well anyway, cool story Jay. Good luck today, I hope you decide to drive.

Cool story Jay!

I can't speak to much about the Z yet as I'm only 91 miles (and one rock chip) into it but I took the afternoon off Wednesday to pick it up and take it to the DMV. Let me tell you, I felt like a rock star. I'm not a guy who likes a lot of attention so this was an insane experience. From the dude who did the entire Exorcist style head turn in the next lane in Hayward to the crowds at the DMV in car crazy Marin County, there is an unbelievable appeal.

You know I double clutched on this purchase but I have zero regrets now!

Poor Jay. Without a 350Z. It made little difference to him that he will, in the near future, get the car but that was before "the ride". dv_johnson gave me a ride in his car here in Seattle and was not shy about showing me the its limits and beyond its limits. An utterly fantastic 5 minute adventure. Jay will never be the same again. He will buy, beg, or steal a Z asap. You have no idea of the value of this automobile until you are in one!

Hey JManZ, As interesting as the more powerful Z rumors are... How much more in general would you all say a 350ZR would cost? I am thinking like 5grand more. I seriously want a 350z and I wouldn't want to get the shaft by getting one before a more powerful one came out unless it cost way more than my dad would be willing to shell out. And does this make sense to anyone? Nissan will sell the tt kit as a nismo dealer installed option for like 5 grand or something around there. This way all the pre-orders wouldn't get pissed off. Just a thought. JManZ ask your Japanese friend if that could be a possibility? Thanks a lot.

There was a JIC rep at the last GroupZ meeting. He said the price for the TT setup will run you about $8000. He mentioned it might take around 30 hours of labor so he added $3000 more. Plus, He mentioned, "If you're investing so much money into the car, you want it to be reliable and lalala, so you should swap out the internal pieces that could handle the....." So yeah, he said about another $3000 for the internal engine "upgrade." Anyone want to fork out $14000 for a TT setup from JIC?

With all that excess power... I'd like the AWD setup. Just as long as it can haul all that extra weight.
