Airbag sensor recall? Did I get screwed somehow?
Well I have that stupid faulty sensor, or connector, on my passenger side that thinks there is a child in the seat.
I thought this was a recall. I was sure of it. But when I enter my specific VIN number into the government transportation website it says no recalls for my vehicle, a 2007 350Z base.
So what gives? Is the recall over and now I'm stuck trying to fix it myself?

Not sure this is even going to help. Statue of limitations (as opposed to expirations) on most recalls is 10 years; but technically, there is no "expiration". Best to just go to a dealer and see what they say. Worst case: "No".
Well the dealer told me I would have to pay for it. So I guess I'm going to first try to bypass the connector with Panduit butt splices and then move on to just replacing the seat myself. I can get a seat of eBay for around $300. Not horrible but not ideal.
